| 5. William Francis 'Frank' Dunbar.10,16 Born on Aug 17, 1847 in Carrol County, Ohio.10 William Francis 'Frank' died in Gary, Indiana on May 3, 1942, he was 94.10,16 Buried in Mt. Olive Cemetary, Chicago, IL.10 Enlisted at age 16-March 31, 1864 from Mt. Sterling, [Missouri Township, Brown County] IL in Company H of the 72nd Illinois Volunteers. He was immediately (Robert Winne has later, records show it was the same day) mustered out and transfered to Company C of the 33rd Illinois Infantry Volunteers. He suffered a gun shot wound to the thigh on February 15, 1865. He was honorably discharged at Vicksburg Mississippi on November 24, 1865. He was the last living Civil War Vet from DuPage County, IL where he was living at his death. Registered to vote Oct 18, 1892. He lived at 109 Abordeen St. at that time. He had lived in the precinct for 1 year, the County of Cook for 2 years, and the State of Illinois for 35 years. He did vote. His discharge papers from the Civil War states that he was born in Carroll County-one place mentions Troy, and beside it in parenthesis (old name). Also mentions Minerva, Ohio, and Pittsburgh Pa. until 1877-then Mount Sterling and Springfield Illinois until 1881. Could it be that Joseph's first three were born in Minerva, Ohio? 10,50,51,21,52 |
