Due to the effects of heat & time,
your vehicle's trip computer & climate
control LCD screen may start to fade.

THIS DISPLAY PROBLEM IS COMMON

It's caused by high dashboard temperatures combined with the heat generated by daytime LCD backlight illumination bulbs.

When parked under the sun on a 35C day with windows closed, your car will experience a dashboard and message display center (MDC) temperature of 60C.

Starting your car on such a day will turn the LCD backlight illumination on. After 20 minutes (regardless of air conditioner settings) the heat from the illumination bulbs will increase the temperature within the MDC to over 90C.

In effect your MDC undergoes accelerated and premature aging.

Fortunately, your LCD screen is tough enough to withstand these conditions.
