Project Experience:

1.      Client: iPass Inc. Redwood Shores, California; USA (October 2002 - present)

Project Description:

The project aims at porting MFC based thick clients to a 3-tier COM based architecture with MFC based UI elements. Responsibilities include:

·         Client interaction for requirements analysis.

·         Design & develop a GINA replacement to perform VPN based authentication & Windows logon.

·         Development of the multithreaded COM business logic layer for intelligent connection handling, policy based integration of third-party Firewall, Virtual Private Network (VPN) & Antivirus applications with administrative & customer configurable preferences.

·         Onsite product beta release delivery.

·         Product demonstration to client.

·         Code reviews for quality monitoring.

·         GUI development with MFC.

·         Source code management using Microsoft Visual SourceSafe & Perforce.

2.      Client: BioNetrix Systems Corp, VA; USA (February 2002 - October 2002)

Project Description:

Developing & integrating a Single Sign On (SSO) adapter interface for the BioNetrix Authentication Suite. SSO capabilities eliminate the need for multiple logins to different applications once a user has been authenticated on a workstation. Responsibilities include:

·         Performed analysis & design for a Script Tool & Adapter Interface that enables automated logon. UML methodologies under Rational Rose were used for the same.

·         Designed COM interfaces, implemented these with IDL & developed COM components with ATL.

·         Built functional prototypes in C++, Win32SDK, ATL and MFC for various system subcomponents as proof-of-concept.

·         Worked at Windows systems level programming to develop a Hook DLL that monitors & controls any windows application, including multithreaded applications. The hook DLL facilitates recording of mouse & keyboard events, which are stored in XML for subsequent playback. I have designed & coded the hook with C++, COM and Win32SDK under VC++6.0.

·         Designed & programmed the data layer in XML using the Apache Xerces DOM parser.

·         Worked onsite to package the BioNetrix Authentication Suite using Install shield. The install I created is capable of deploying Windows services & COM servers across Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP.

·         Performed source code management using Microsoft Visual SourceSafe.

Tata InfoTech Ltd.            (October 1998– January 2002)
Address: Tata InfoTech, SEEPZ, Andheri (East). Bombay-400096. MAH, India. www.tatainfotech.com

Project Experience:

1.      Security Administration Module                                   (July 2001 till December 2001)

Responsible for implementing a security subsystem into existing applications so authenticated users have selective access to functionality. This involved extensive user interaction, code review of existing applications to be modified, system design to closely match user operations, database table design and development with C++, VC++, MFC and Informix ESQL-C.

2.   Train Charting Enhancement                                        (March 2001 till July 2001)

This project aimed at converting MFC based thick clients into a 3-tier based architecture having a COM middle layer with thin MFC UI’s. I was responsible for the design & prototyping. Performed analysis, design, review and programming. Generated use case & sequence diagrams with UML in Rational Rose. Developed middle tier components using C++, ATL-COM and VC++ that encapsulate system functionality, deployed under MTS. Created reports with Crystal Reports 8.0

3.      ODBC Assessment                                                         (February 2001 till March 2001)

This was an effort estimation exercise. I was responsible for porting existing 4GL legacy Informix programs & Windows applications using Informix database drivers to VC++, MFC based applications using ODBC. Based on this exercise, I assisted in planning the total effort involved in porting the complete suite of programs.

4.      Decision Support System                                               (June 2000 till February 2001)

This is a near-real time decision support control system with GUI based asset tracking, control and reporting. High volume transactions reflected in efficient user interface design & database logic.

I worked on the design & development of the application’s custom drawn UI with VC++/MFC, this is database driven & dynamically updated. Designed & coded database transaction layer DLL’s in Informix ESQL-C. Worked with windows sockets in the inter-module messaging subsystem and windows kernel objects for multithreaded synchronization. Performed system implementation onsite.

5.      Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd                                (February 1999 till June 2000)

Responsibilities included extensive client & end user interaction, requirement analysis, development of master, transaction and report programs with Informix 4GL & Informix ESQL-C, quality assurance & testing. Part of a three-member core support team at client site for the Year 2000 transition, we worked in shifts to ensure 24-hour system availability. Performed onsite development & support for 6 months.
