120. Thomas CHALFANT II was born on 2 Mar 1729 in Birmingham, East Marlborough, Chester Co., PA. ⁽¹⁵²⁾ He died about 1777 in Chester Co., PA. He was a Farmer. He was married to Margaret GREEN on 17 Jan 1747/48 in Old Swedes Church, Philadelphia, PA.⁽¹⁵³⁾

121. Margaret GREEN ⁽¹⁵⁴⁾ was born on 13 Jun 1725. ⁽¹⁵⁵⁾ She died in 1790 in Chester Co., PA. Margaret Green was born in the old homestead at Birmingham, the 6th month, 13th day, 1725, and brought up in the Meeting. She was married January, 1748, in Old Swedes Church, Philadelphia, to Thomas Chalfant, son of Robert and Martha Chalfant of Birmingham, and is complained of to the Meeting for marrying out. On the 9th mo. 7, 1748, Margaret Green (of Concord Mtg.) now Chalfant, makes acknowledgement for being married by a priest. (Records of Concord Mtg., p. 132.) the Meeting gives her a Certificate 12th mo. 6, 1748/9 to the New Garden meeting.

There is nothing further on the minutes of the Meeting until 7 mo. 2, 1763, when it notes a Certificate to Concord is being prepared for Margaret Chalfant which she presents the 9 mo. 8, 1763, to the Concord Meeting. The Certificate ws dated 8 mo. 9, 1763. Nothing further is recorded therein until 10 mo. 6, 1773, when she is given a Certificate to the Kennett Meeting.

Margaret (Green) Chalfant was not very active in the Meeting. Her name does not appear on any of the committees nor in connection with any of the activities in the Women's Meeting. This may have been due to the fact that Thomas Chalfant was not a member and their children were never enrolled as members, and although she had received a Certificate of Removal to the Kennett Meeting in 1773, she apparently made some change at this time, as she never presented the Certificate to the Meeting, and 12 mo. 4 day, 1776, she was disowned. (Records of Concord Mo. Mtg., Chester County, p. 51)
