Goddamn. This is PURE pop perfection. The only thing I had heard from the Lilys prior to this was their A Brief History of Amazing Letdowns EP and I was blown away by it. This full-length CD is even BETTER. For proof of the incredible nature of this disc, check out "FBI and Their Toronto Transmitters" or "The Turtle Which Died Before Knowing." Honest to God, this music is so chillingly beautiful that I almost started crying on the first listen. Not unlike mid-period Pink Floyd, but much, MUCH better, the Lilys are one of the BEST BANDS AROUND AT THIS POINT IN TIME!!! Apparently, the band is pretty much a fellow by the name of Kurt Heasley. Kurt has one of the most breathtakingly eerie and strangely hypnotic voices I've ever heard. Add to that the fact that he writes KILLER tunes and you have the perfect combination. I don't know WHAT the title of this disc means, but it doesn't matter. This will most certainly end up being one of my TOP FAVORITE RELEASES of the year. Wow...
