Lilys

Guitarist Kurt Heasley has been the mainstay of Lilys throughout the band's six year history. The only remaining original member, Heasley has shared the Lilys experience with some twenty-seven different people in ever-changing lineups. He and various Lilys have been in residence in Denver, Louisville, Lancaster, Washington, Hartford, and currently, Boston. "Though I'm the only original member, everyone gets to do what they want (as long as it doesn't completely suck)," Heasley explains. "Every record is a reflection of who I'm hanging out with and their musicianship or who was engineering the record or how long we had to make the record."

Lilys' Fall 1996 album, Better Can't Make Your Life Better, quickly established itself as a 'must own' record, garnering praise and rave reviews from a number of high-profile publications (including Rolling Stone, Musician, and Alternative Press), as well as topping the college radio charts for over ten weeks.

Lilys have just completed a seven week coast-to-coast tour treating fans old and new to songs from their forthcoming EP Services (For The Soon To Be Departed), released April 22,1997. In Heasley's words the record is "a blues opera for a child to be born named 'Tayt' in six movements".

Services (For The Soon To Be Departed) was recorded with help of Mike Deming at Hartford, Connecticut's Studio .45 with Kurt Heasley on guitar and vocals, Thom Monahan on bass and backing vocals, and Aaron Sperske on drums and percussion. The touring lineup was expanded to include the talents of Torben Pastore on guitar and backing vocals and Timothy Foote on keyboards.
