After 5 years of secondary education, lilian found herself once again amid big people and even bigger classrooms. Huge, in fact, are those lecture halls - where profs are but little figures pacing back and forth way at the front and where, unfortunately, the "tables" are barely large enough for her to put (ahem) her lunch...

In June of 1999, Lilian's dad suffered two strokes and was hospitalized at the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster. Lilian felt like she suddenly had to grow up overnight. I'm not sure how well she's managing, but she for sure has a whole lot more to think about now aside from school, work, volunteering and piano. Happily, Lilian's dad came home in December of 1999 in time for Christmas after several odd weeks of coma and a bout of pneumonia.

Lilian will be entering her 6th year of Engineering Physics as a part-time student in fall of 2001. Outside of class time Lilian helps around at home taking care of her father, or drives out to Abbotsford to deal with family business.
