                                                                 Fountain Project

Before we moved to our present home we lived at the lake and pumped water from the lake to   irrigate our lawn and garden.  The first thing we missed having was an inexpensive method of irrigation.  We decided to dig a well and we were very successful.  We are blessed to have  water on our property and not to have to dig too deep.
Bill first built a little well house but that didn't please him so we put our heads together and designed our current fountain.  It is used to pump water to the lawn and garden and is an attractive addition to the landscape as well.  The little grandchildren love to play in the fountain and everyone else just likes to listen to the sound of the water.   The fish was hard to find.  We needed something big enough to be seen and small enough to lift off when the pump has to be worked on.

We capped the wall of our fountain with granite from Marble Falls, Texas. In the 1880's the owners of the granite mountain (now part of the Cold Springs Texas Granite company) near Marble Falls, offered free pink granite for construction of the Texas State Capitol.  Our fountain is keeping company with some very famous places.

While my brother was visiting, we made a trip to south Texas and saw a wild flower seed farm.  The flowers are grown to harvest the seed.  It is the most beautiful sight you could ever hope to see.  Rows and rows of wild flowers in bloom.   Seeing this spectacular display of wild flowers made me want to plow some great long rows in my yard and plant nothing but wild flowers.
