((This is the 2000-2001 team @ State))
LET ME STAND NEXT TO YOUR FIRE!!
((Or, for Cyrrene and Erika, "Let me stand next to your urinal!!!"))
State - EXCELLENT!
This page is so old, I wouldn't even look much at it if I were you... I graduated, so I'm not on the KHS dance team anymore. I WAS going to make a WWCC page, but I'm not on that team anymore either! (imagine that)... so right now, I'm just leaving this until I find a new idea for it.

*-[ Outside of School ]-*
I dance too much... hehe... wait can u do that? Dance too much... I don't think so. I take classes at Westlake Dance Center as much as I can... I take Hip Hop 3/4 and 1/2 with Daniel Cruz Monday nights ((he is too awesome...)), Jazz 2 with Kirsten Cooper and Lyrical 1/2 with some girl named Helen on Tuesday nights, and Jazz 3 with Kim Gockel on Wednesday nights. IT'S SO MUCH FUN!!!!! Westlake Dance Center is one of the best studios in Western WA; people come from all over to dance there - people like SONICS DANCE TEAM MEMBERS (that's where I wanna be in 4 or 5 years).
I also dance with my buddy KELLY who is NOT on the dance team because we're not good enough for her ((I love you Kelly)). We make up routines that we are going to take to Nationals... haha... we wish! Our routines are the best, they fuckin RULE. And thats all there is to it.
And of course you can see me dancing just about anytime you see me. Cuz I love it and I do it all the time. Yup... I think thats about it. Oh wait! I will be trying out for the Walla Walla Pom Squad in a year. So, everyone wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, so what if it's far away... after that I'll come back ((after college)) and try out for the Sonic's Dance Team :) (omg, I wrote that a year ago... lol... well now, although I never thought it'd really happen, I am on the WWCC Pom Squad! And I'm still planning on trying out for Sonic's I think... who knows)
*-[ For My People ]-* This was an assignment that we had to do for English last year... I just remembered it, because I was thinking of submitting a piece of writing for a contest and writing about dance. Anyways, we had to write this "For My People" thing about anything... just something we could relate to. So I chose dance, of course!!
For my people preparing for the show; in studios, at school, at home, at work, in the car, while walking down the street, at the gym, and in their sleep. Awaiting that one moment when they lose themselves in the lights, the music, the crowds, and the dance.
For the passion, the love, the strength, and the pain; the long, strenuous hours and the lack of sleep. The four minutes when hundreds or thousands are watching, waiting, critiquing, enjoying, hating, judging, envying, wishing, singing, cheering, yelling, clapping, and ignoring.
For my teammates; the parties, the sleepovers, the presents, the fights, the jealousy, the help, the fun, the love, the experience, the pain, the joy, and the beautiful and unbreakable friendships.
For the technique - the piques, grand jetes, pirouettes, chasses, chaines, pas de chats, fouettes, arabesques, pas de bourrees, plies, attitudes, and releve. For the turn out and sickled feet, extension and pointed toes, straight lines and pulling up, soft hands and expression.
For my people sacrificing their bodies, time, work, and families. Accepting the fact that they might tear a muscle, break a bone, and never dance again. Putting their careers on the line in order to gamble for a place in the spotlight. Working night and day, day and night, never giving up and never believing it will end. Saving everything for later in order to have as much time as possible to practice, prepare, and perfect.
For the smiles and the raised eyebrows; the four minutes of nonstop emotion. Smiling with their eyes, their lips, through the pain of an injury or a broken heart. Smiling although they know victory will not be theirs, but they must try anyway. Concentrating on the steps and losing the emotion, having to stop every time one person loses a face. Starting over, repeating, hating, and tired.
For my people getting ready to perform; the sequins, the gloves, the dansneakers, the dark purple eye shadow, the pound of blush, the thick, dark lipstick, the fake eyelashes, the globs of gel, the million bobby pins, the smelly, sticky, icky hairspray, and the unity.
For State - Big Spender, Who's Sorry Now, Sing Sing Sing, and All That Jazz. For Bob Fosse - choreographer, dancer, husband, legend, and drug addict. For All Select - Color Guard, High Kick, Pom Pon, Precision, Jazz, and Novelty/Prop. For the stress and time and pain and suffering and pizza. For Thursday March 15, 2001, Friday March 16, 2001, and Saturday March 17, 2001. For keeping the dreams alive in the hearts of dancers.
*-[ My Senior Pics ]-* I had to add these because... I used my dance uniform and they are all dance poses!! :)
