This isn't near as long a story as my Meeting Jeff "manifesto" as it's been dubbed, but here goes. {:o) We intending on going to the start of Steelers training camp today, as we do every year, but they decided to close the first practice to the public. {:o( Since we were already in the area, I remembered that Amber was gonna be at Quaker Steak in Cranberry Twp. so we stopped in. Gave me a great excuse to eat there, I've been craving their chicken wings for a looong time. They're awesome. Anyways, we got there at like 3pm. There was a fairly big line, but it moved quickly & it didn't take us long to get to Amber. She said "Hi" & asked where we were from. She knew where the town was & mentioned that she has eaten dinner at a few restaurants in my hometown. I told her that I'd actually seen here eating dinner at a Bar & Grille in February (I think). She asked if I talked to her, I said no that I didn't want to approach her because she was eating with friends & thought that would have been rude, but I did say hi to her as she left. Amber was very sweet & super perky. She's tall & thin, very pretty. Nice eyes. She was pleasant to talk to. She noticed that Jeff had already signed my magazine, & she asked if we met him when he was in Pittsburgh. My brother said, "Ya & I think you rate higher than him around here because they didn't feed him anything but M&M's & a car dealership hot dog & you have a whole bucket of wings." She thought that was pretty funny. Amber said alot of people had been telling her that they met Jeff (and came in with things signed by him too) & they all had nice things to say about meeting him. She started telling us how her & Jeff went out to dinner that night at Outback Steakhouse & how everything went really well. She had nice things to say about Jeff. I told her to stop in to the chatroom some time when she gets a chance. She asked a few questions about his website & how things there are going. Still going strong, to which she replied, "Awesome. I'll try to check it out next time I'm online." She took a picture with us, then our food came so we went to eat. After dinner, we were leaving at the same time & I started talking to Amber's mom, Cheryl, who was very, very, VERY nice. She said how proud she is of Amber & how she appreciated all the support from the folks in the Pittsburgh area. Amber was cute hugging her mom & thanking everyone that came. I asked if I could get a photo of the two of them before they left & they took the cutest picture! (see above) I told Amber we're going to the NFL Hall of Fame Enshrinement (who from Pittsburgh isn't? Lynn Swann's being inducted baybee! I wouldn't miss that for anything!) & we'd see her there. I told her I'd bring her a copy of the photo of her & her mom. She thanked us & said, "See ya in August." Visit was probably ten or fifteen minutes total, & very enjoyable. She seems like a really sweet person & was more talkative then you'd expect. (And BTW she never once said, Oh my gawwwwwd or Wow...can you believe it??) LOL {:o) ~Lilac~
