Eyes: Blue Hair: Naturally blonde but currently red
Family: My parents (Emily & Conrad) divorced when I was two & Dad has been remarried for years. I have a younger brother, Chris (2 1/2 years difference) & an older step-brother Jim (2 years older then me). I recently moved back home with my mom, Chris, & my grandparents. I'm also very close to my Aunt Renee & her kids (TJ; M/14, Torri; F/11, & Samie; F/10).
Pets: Three cats - Slash (he's my baby, see pic above), Ally, & Shadow
Hobbies & Interests: I love being outdoors, going camping, hiking, canoing, mountain biking, swimming, roller blading, even fishing. I love sports, basically any sport, although my very favorites are basketball & martial arts. I enjoy reading & writing. I keep a journal & write lots of poetry. Music, movies, & television are always a stand-by for rainy days when I'm stuck in the house. (I list some of my favorites in their own sections) I LOVE to cook! My favorite things to make are Italian dishes (click the links to my secret recipes for lasagna & angelhair pomodoro w/chicken) & desserts (the very best homemade brownies & banana bread). Art wise, I draw & paint a bit, plus I like interior decorating & fashion. Photography is my best art outlet though. I've been snapping photos since I was six or seven years old. I rarely go anywhere without some sort of camera. Besides all that I do alot of charity work, mostly for children's charties, veterans organizations, foodbanks, & homeless shelters. I'm involved in my church whenever I have the chance, by serving & teaching Sunday school & Vacation Bible School in the summer. I really like travelling, but sadly I haven't been able to do nearly as much of it as I was planning on, due to some health matters in my family. I will travel more though once I get free time again. LOL Know any good places to go? {:o) And like a normal person, I'm into hanging out with friends, chatting, talking on the phone, & meeting new people. And I'm always looking for something new to try. {;o)
Aspirations: First & foremost I want to be a good person, very well-rounded. Career wise, I've been undecided for a long time, I was leaning towards something to do with children, but I dunno. LOL Any suggestions?!?! I really do love helping kids though. I know first hand that some kids have to go through illness, suffering, death, & loss; things that even most adults aren't able to handle & it breaks my heart to see kids go through that kind of stuff. I'd really like to help & I think I might be able to. I would like to go back to college some time in the future. I might take some more time though to travel or work abroad.
Current Work: Right now I have two regular part time jobs. I work for a friend of mine in an insurance office, mostly doing data processing but also some different secretary type things (like filing papers, making phone calls, mailing letters, etc). And I also babysit quite alot, usually for my 3 cousins. I've had a lot of jobs in the past. Name something & I've probably tried it. lol Waitress, grocery store clerk, lawn care, house cleaning, telemarketer (yes, that was definately a low point)
Coz she's got...Personality: If you asked someone about me they'd probably be likely to say that I smile alot & that I'm fun to be around & that I have a really good (if sometimes goofy & sarcastic) sense of humor. I'd say I'm very laid-back & easy to get along with, a people person, friendly, outgoing, not a genius or anything but smart enough to know better. Good listener & problem solver. Honest, almost to a fault. I tend to be pretty focused & driven; I know how to work hard. Home schooling & martial arts have gone along way in teaching me discipline & patience. I'm usually the strong one, & I pride myself on being pretty thick skinned & not worrying too much about what others think of me. And I work very, very, very hard at being as well-rounded as possible.
My downfalls: Ahhh, alas, here come the faults. I'll be honest about em though. My biggest problem is that I tend to spread myself too thin. I have a hard time saying "no" when people ask for help. It's easy to say yes, but it's pretty damn hard to say "no." I'm an argumentative person, not screaming or yelling or anything like that, I just think a good debate is pretty damn amusing. Some people don't like being argued with at all & that's where my outspoken nature gets me into trouble. And because I can be a pretty big goofball, some people have a hard time taking me seriously. I joke around alot & then they think that I'm always that way, but it turns out I can be very, very serious & alot of times I am. I take everyone else's problems onto myself. And lastly, I can be awfully critical of myself (prolly like now) lol {:o)
Pet Peeves: Abuse, greediness, prejudices and stereo-types, hypocrasy, close-mindedness, poor fast food service, people who believe one person can't make a difference
Fave Quality in a Date: the smile! {:o)
Bad Habits: I bite my nails, chew gum almost constantly, & sometimes talk too much
Tattoos/Piercings: My ears are pierced & I have a tattoo of two dolphins making a yin-yang around my belly button
Fave Colors: Purple (naturally) and blue (I usually wear blue)
Fave Animal: It's a tie. Cats & dolphins. They rule!
Biggest Fear: the possum, ewww bleech *shiver* They honestly give me the creeps. I hate them. They're ugly & scary & they make creepy noises & they eat things that no other animal on earth will eat. Ewww...I'm giving myself chills just writing about them. If you click on the link, I'll give you a little insight into where this fear originated.
Least Fave Food: Fish!!!! I really haven't ate much fish since I was 8 or 9 years old. I had a bad experience. If you've ever thrown-up fish, you'll know why I'd rather steer clear of the stuff. I eat it only when camping. Oh, any kind of corn chips. Fritos, doritos, they're all nasty. I like Mexican food in general but corn chips make me sick (is that a contradiction? Some people tell me if you hate them you can't say you like Mexican food. Whatever)
Least Fave Drink: Grape juice!!!! Again, something I've sworn off since I was little. Will make exceptions for church, if the Communion is grape juice (our church has wine, I'm DEFINATELY ok with that hehehe)
Things I've never done but would like to do: I'm dying to visit some other countries. I've never been out of the country, or even been on an airplane for that matter, I drive everywhere but I don't actually have a driver's license, per say. LOL Yes, I know I should have one & it's the law. However, I was living in the city where you didn't need a car so...just never went & got it. That's on my agenda though, honest. {;o) If ever I get around to that maybe I'll also get my motorcycle license. Finally, I'll let yall know now, my ass will be on Survivor someday! As soon as I hit 21 (which is not all that far off), I'm gonna apply for that show. I think I was born to be on it. I'm gonna win too, so if any of you wanna start sucking up now, here's your chance. {:o)
