"It's Bush-Head Man!"
Taken in Bush-Wick, get it? And also the really fluffy hair, so it's not my favorite. I use this one because it's fairly recent, and head to toe so you get the full effect. (Look! It's a transsexual!) It was taken late in 2004, in our apartment in Brooklyn.
That dark matter around the top of my head? Not all hair. Some of that dark shape where hair would be is the shadow cast on the aluminum door behind me. On a geographic note, the door leads to the Bushwick yard in which rats attended Kevin's cookouts.
That's Ernie, our friend Rowan's False Map turtle in the tank behind me. The turtle, and also Rowan, stayed with us for a few months. We took care of him for a while, so he was like our pet for a little while.
I have pets of my own. When I was a kid I had a couple mice for a while, but they were nasty and bit, so I gave them to the girl up the street. Her mother was That Woman in the community who takes in orphaned 'possums and ducklings and whatnot, so I knew she'd take good care of them, but they died. They were just sickly. When I was married, we had an iguana named Igor. Again, not a success story: we never tamed it, so I gave it to a friend who was very successful with iguanas.
Most recently I have my cats. My first two cats came to me as kittens through my son's grandmother.

"Pimp bells ring, are ya listenin'..." Taken around Christmastime 2004 in Florence, Mass.

Taken most (though still not terribly) recently. Note the shorter hair. I've recently gotten contacts.
Plush replicas of two bears, one a sleeping bag-clad hand puppet. Kevin made the other bear's glasses.
