| Reiki Second Degree Chokurei Symbol |
| This is pronounced �Chok � er � ai�. This is the first symbol that you learn when you begin your Reiki Second Degree class. The reason for this being the first symbol that you learn, is because the Chokurei is the symbol that activates your Reiki Second Degree energy. Without signing this symbol either in your mind or with your hand, you will still be using Reiki First Degree energy. As soon as you intend to activate the Reiki Second Degree energy, the Chokurei symbol has to be signed in order for the energy of Second Degree to flow. When activating this symbol by either drawing it with your hand palm outwards in the air, or visualizing it in your mind, a surge of intense energy can be felt coming through the palms of the hands. It is more intense than the energy of First Degree Reiki, and this is because the Chokurei symbol also activates a powerful boost of energy. Some Masters include this symbol with the Reiki First Degree Attunement (it depends entirely on the Master), so do not be surprised if you find that some Masters teach it with the First Degree and some Masters teach it with Reiki Second Degree. What does the Chokurei do and how does it work? The Chokurei is a powerful surge of Reiki healing energy. It heals on it�s own and is not directed specifically at a particular level or area as are the second two symbols. In a healing, it is entirely possible to only use the Chokurei symbol. In summary, the Chokurei 1. Activates the energy for Reiki Second Degree. 2. Creates a path for the other symbols to follow. 3. Heals on it�s own. 4. Is the momentum behind the other symbols in a Chokurei sandwich., which pushes the energy forward. Other uses for the Chokurei. The uses for this symbol are many and varied! As it sends out a surge of energy, it is a good one to send out five or ten minutes before you need a parking spot. I often sign it, if I see an ambulance race past � asking spirit to bring healing to those in need and signing the symbol to accompany the ambulance and those it is racing towards. If you are wishing something nice for someone, sign this symbol and send it out with your words of hope � the spoken word and the symbol are a powerful combination. If you see someone in the street, who is obviously not well, or down on their luck, sign the symbol either in your head or with your hand, and send it to that person. It is also used as a protection symbol to place over your house, your car, yourself, your children, when someone is travelling long distance, when someone is going into surgery etc� Using the Chokurei during a healing. When using the symbol in a hands-on healing, simply sign the symbol without removing your hands (if you sign it with your hand rather than in your mind, keep one hand on the body so you do not break the flow of energy). You will feel the energy begin to flow more powerfully through your hands and they may become quite hot depending on how much healing energy is flowing through. Once you have completed your second degree, you will find that you will use the energy of second degree most of the time. This is largely because you have a more powerful healing energy boost literally at your fingertips. It is a valuable healing tool! Where there is an existing condition in the physical body, it will often provide relief from pain. I have known of arthritis patients who have been able to unlock their joints and been free of pain after being Reiki-ed by a Reiki healer for an hour. So in addition to healing, it also relieves pain and discomfort which is wonderful as this can often drain a person and leave them with less energy to fight an illness. If there is a blockage in an area, your hands will often feel cold, or as if no energy is flowing through them, signing the Chokurei symbol will often remove the blockage or get the energy flowing. You may have to sign it once or several times � so do not be frightened to use it more than once to get the energy flowing. Remember that when energy does not flow through our bodies, it leaves us open for illness and disease to take hold, so one of our aims is to make sure that energy is flowing throughout the body. There are many, many ways that this symbol can be used in your everyday life doing everyday things as well as in healing. If you totally integrate it within you, you will find yourself using it all the time! |
