REIKI SECOND DEGREE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Will I be able to learn the symbols?
I have attuned many students over the years and have never had a student who was unable to learn all three symbols. Many are daunted by the size of the Honshazeshonen symbol. However, this again is quite easy to learn if it is broken down into three or four steps.

Remember that there is no hurry, no hard task masters beating sticks at your ankles!! Relax, learn the symbols and practice them until you have learned them � there is no deadline. Learn them at your own pace and in your own way � and if you need some help � ask your Master/Teacher!

What if I make a mistake when drawing the symbols?
If you are doing a healing on someone and you realize that you have drawn the symbol incorrectly, do not fret. Your intention and speaking the name of the symbol in your mind will have ensured that the energy of that particular symbol will have been activated. Your intent to activate that energy has been sent out.

If you have begun signing and realize that you have made an error, simply wipe it away and begin again.

How do you sign the symbols?
All symbols may be signed in two ways. They may be signed with the hand facing palm outwards in the air, making the symbol as large or as small as you like. It may also be signed in the mind, �seeing� the symbol being drawn and saying silently the name of the symbol three times.

Are their names spoken aloud?
All Reiki Second Degree symbols are said three times while they are being signed. Let me repeat that � the symbols are signed once but the name is said three times during the signing.

This does not mean that you can use the symbols only once � each symbol may be used as many times as you feel necessary during a healing. The name may be spoken out loud, although most people prefer to say it in their mind.

Signing with the hand or signing in your head.
The more confident you become with the signing of the symbols, the more you will sign them in your mind. However, even now after being a healer for many years, I will either sign the symbol with one hand while keeping the other on the person being healed, or I will keep both hands on the person and sign the symbols in my head.

Either way, the energy is activated and begins to flow. Both are valid ways, although when you are learning the symbols it is good to sign them with your hand as it helps to ingrain them in your mind by combining the physical gesture with a mental learning process. Once this is done, the symbols can be done automatically.

Do I sign with 1 or 2 hands?
Only one hand is used to sign symbols when using Reiki healing energy. Some other healing modalities such as Se Chim, use two hands to sign their symbols at the same time in unison, however, Reiki only signs with one hand at a time. You may use either hand.

How many attunements is Reiki 2?
Whereas Reiki 1 has four parts to the attunement, Reiki 2 has only one. However, there are more symbols implanted in the palms of the hands. Some Master/Teachers implant them in only one hand while others (like myself) implant them in both hands.

Will I still be able to use my Reiki 1 energy?
Indeed yes! Reiki Second Degree energy is only activated by signing the Chokurei symbol. In some cases you may only want to use Reiki First Degree level energy such as when you are doing a healing on a sick elderly person who is unused to the energy.

Can I use Reiki 2 with other types of healing?
Yes, Reiki works very well with all other healing energies such as Crystals, Shamanism, Se Chim, Spiritual etc�.

What if I want to teach others how to do Reiki?
If you want to teach other how to do Reiki then you would take the next step and become a Reiki Master yourself so that you may attune others to the energy and teach them the way of Reiki healing.
