Diane completely sacrifices her personal life to bring you the skinny on the Maryland/ Washington, D.C./ Delaware/ Northern Virginia scene.

So why don't we call this page "On the Towns" or "On the States"? I don't know everything!!!

Anyhoo, if you've got something you think the lesbian community should know about, send it to Diane!

Hello, all!

So everybody is back from vacation, tan and beautiful, right? Maybe still looking for Ms. Right, huh? Consider remaking yourself, yeah, I said remaking yourself. Your challenge this fall is to change what you don’t like, hair color, wardrobe, grow longer fingernails, get your teeth fixed etc. etc. etc. You know . . . the easy things. The inside takes longer.

If you are looking for that nice little place to take a first date, consider Baltimore’s Brass Elephant restaurant. They have a theater deal with the Spotlighters Theater for a free play ticket and free parking. Spotlighters is the only theater in the round in Baltimore, and seats about a hundred people.

49 West Cafe in Annapolis is gay friendly. They have a delightful back patio area that can be intimate and also nice for a first date. Inside boasts very interesting art, which changes on a monthly basis. Any artists out there? Caution: it take about a year to even get a spot in there as I have exhibited there myself, but well worth the wait. Their monthly artist's reception is always a fun evening. Wine, coffee, great deserts, and sandwich menu.

Dating -- have we forgotten that word, ladies? In order to get to know people that really fit the bill . . . no long term commitments until dating has passed the 6 month time frame. Then you will know how long she really snores, and if she has too many animals, or too little compassion, or no personality except in bed. Which can you deal with and what do you really want out of life at this time?

Update:

For those of you who missed it, The Man Who Came To Dinner production for the Metropolitan Community Church of Baltimore was a great success. Raised over $2,500.00 toward its building fund in two nights, and laughs were heard all evening, every evening.

For those of you who may be thinking about becoming politically active and possibly running for political office, email me for more information and go to Rutgers University in New Jersey, which offers women information about running for political office.  You know how interesting those active women can be!

Til another sunny day, ladies!

Love and kisses,

Diane
