~*~ Chapter 82 ~*~
REDDING, CA –THE ADDAMS’ HOUSE – JUL. 27th, 2002 – SATURDAY
Kirstin woke up before her alarm clock could wake her up.
“That’s a first.” she said to herself after sitting up and turning the alarm off.
It was 7:15 a.m. and Kirstin was tired of staying in bed and having little sleep.
That was it. That was the day. The day she would give herself up to Ashley completely and for eternity. No more escapes. No other guys. No excuses. That was it. Her wedding day. Thinking about all that, she smiled and got out of bed.
She walked to the window and opened the curtains. The Californian sun was already out and shining bright. The day couldn’t be more perfect. The wedding would be in 11 hours and she couldn’t keep the smile off her face thinking about it. She had dreamt about that day so many times. She couldn’t believe her most incredible dream was actually coming true.
She heard a soft knock on her door and went to get it.
“Hey.” Grace was outside, smiling to her “You’re up already. And it didn’t take anybody to wake you up this early!”
“I know! I’ve grown up a little, I think.” Kirstin smiled and moved out of the way for Grace to come in.
“So…”
“So…” Kirstin said in the same tone as Grace.
“Oh, K, come here.” Grace hold her friend tight and fought back the tears.
“I’m the one getting married and you’re the one all emotional about it?” Kirstin giggled when they pulled back.
“Oh, it’s just that every since I met Ashley, I’ve been praying for this day to come.”
“Really?” Kirstin asked “You never said anything about it before.”
“I know. I didn’t want to jinx it. Now that it’s here, it’s ok to talk about it.”
“Oh, G. I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me, for Ashley and for this wedding. I don’t think you’ll work this hard even on your wedding.”
“I know!” Grace giggled, while washing a tear away.
“Really, thank you so much. I don’t think I would have come this far if it wasn’t for you.” Kirstin hugged her friend.
“Oh, you’re so welcome, dear. Just looking at your face now is enough. You are glowing. You look so happy.”
“And I am, G. So happy. I still think I don’t deserve him. But I’m so happy.”
“Don’t say that. You do deserve him.”
“You think so, really?”
“Yeah, I do think so. And most importantly, Ashley thinks so.”
“Oh, G. You’re the best.”
“No, you’re the best, K. And you deserve being this happy.” they both hugged again “Ok.” Grace pulled back “Let’s save some of this emotion for the wedding, shall we?”
“Right.” Kirstin was fought back her tears now.
“So, let’s get you ready to marry, then!”
“Let’s go!” Kirstin exclaimed.
REDDING, CA –THE ANGEL’S HOUSE – JUL. 27th, 2002 – SATURDAY
It was 8 a.m. and it had been a while since Ashley had been up and staring at the view from his room.
He couldn’t believe the day had come just as Kirstin couldn’t. He, more than Kirstin, had fought every fight for that day to come. He had let himself get hurt over and over again just to be with Kirstin. And now the hurt was going away. Kirstin would be his. Only his. For eternity. And he still couldn’t believe it.
He had also dreamt about it every since he first saw Kirstin. And that day being real now, was too overwhelming. He had prayed and had fought so much for it, and now he didn’t have to do it anymore. His. Forever his.
“Come on in.” Ashley said when he heard a knock on his door.
“Hey, man!” all four of them said in unison.
“Guys! You made it!” Ashley hugged each of his band members.
“Of course we made it. What did you think?” Trevor asked.
“I don’t know. That you guys would take longer to get here.”
“Never. We took the first plane here.” Jacob informed.
“Good. That’s so great to have you guys here. I’m so nervous. I don’t know what to do today. I just want the hours to pass quickly. I wanna get married already.” Ashley rubbed one hand on another.
“Oh, you are gonna have to wait a little.” Erik said.
“But we’re here to help you with every last minute thing.” Dan notified Ashley.
“Good.”
“Did you get her to write her own vows?” Erik asked.
“Yes.”
“Good. Now let’s start with us checking your vows, shall we?”
“Ok, let’s do it.”
