~*~ Chapter 79 ~*~

REDDING, CA – AIRPORT – JUL. 22th, 2002 – MONDAY

Kirstin sat in a chair, drinking a mocacchino in one of the airport’s café and reading a magazine. She was there waiting for Ashley’s flight from Orlando.

Their wedding would take place in exactly 5 days. Kirstin had been in Redding for the last 6 days, with Grace and Gloria, making the last arrangements for the big day. Everything seemed to be going pretty well. And she couldn’t be happier about it. Kirstin was so used to having a difficult time with everything that actually having the pre-wedding days going so smoothly scared her a bit. But she knew nothing was gonna happen. Especially now that Ashley was going to meet her in Redding.

Kirstin took another look at her wristwatch. It read 3:50. The plane would be there at 3:55. She closed the magazine, took the last sip from her mocacchino and headed for the gate where Ashley would arrive.

Kirstin stood still at Gate 23. She tapped her foot and couldn’t stop staring at her watch. It was taking a while. Kirstin couldn’t wait to see Ashley. She hadn’t seen him in over a month. Things were crazy for him because of O-Town’s album that was ready to be released and Kirstin was crazy with the wedding preparations.

The gate opened, people started to go through, but she couldn’t find Ashley. It took about 3 minutes, what for Kirstin seemed more like 3 hours, when Ashley showed up and she ran to him.

“Oh, God!” Kirstin jumped and hugged him really tight.

“Easy, easy.” Ashley said through a smile.

“Ash…” she released her neck and kissed him hard on the lips.

“Hm… I missed this kiss.” Ashley said when they broke apart.

“What took you so long to get off the plane?” Kirstin playfully hit him on the arm.

“Oh! There were three fans in the airplane that only saw me when I was getting off the plane. But that didn’t take that long, come on!”

     “It did!”

     “It did not!”

“Where are they?” Kirstin searched the place.

     “Where are who?”

“The girls.” Kirstin still looked around.

“Oh, now you’re jealous, huh? You were never like that with my fans.”

“I know, but they kept you away for 3 minutes.”

“Three minutes? And you actually counted the time?”

“Well, I didn’t have anything else to do and I was miserable here, missing you so much.” she pouted and placed her arms around his waist.

“Oh, stop it!” Ashley smiled and pecked her pouted lips “Let’s go get my luggage and then we’re out of here.”

“Yay! Let’s!” Kirstin smiled big and took Ashley’s hand in hers.

REDDING, CA –THE ANGEL’S HOUSE – JUL. 22th, 2002 – MONDAY

Kirstin had told Ashley during their drive that Grace and Gloria were at his house making the arrangements.

“So… everything going well?” Ashley asked, after closing the car door behind Kirstin and taking her hand on his.

     “So far, yep.”

“Baby, don’t say so far. Everything will go smoothly until the big day. Don’t worry. And that’s why I’m here for. To make sure everything is gonna be alright.”

     “Hope so.”

“No, you don’t even have to hope, because everything will be great. Promise you that!”

“Ok.” she pecked his lips and they entered his house.

“God, what have you done to my place?” Ashley asked as soon as he opened the front door.

     “Sorry!” Kirstin said.

“Ashley!” Paula exclaimed as soon as she saw Ashley closing the door.

“Mom.” he hugged his mother, who gave him a kiss on the forehead.

“I’ve missed you so much, son. How are you? Are you good? Tired from your trip?”

“A little bit tired, yes. But that’s ok.”

“Where’s your luggage?” Paula looked around.

“I left it in my car. I’ll get it later.”

     “Oh, ok.”

“And… how’s everything going on here? I can see it’s not our house anymore.” Ashley looked around and saw a little mess going on in the living room.

“Oh, it’s a mess, I know.” Paula smiled.

“And you’re happy about it? You’re never happy about mess, mom!” Ashley exclaimed.

“Really?” Kirstin asked ashamed “Why didn’t you say so, Paula? We would have kept it… less messy.”

“Oh, no, no, no, dear.” Paula grabbed Kirstin’s hand “It’s ok. I’m not at all mad about the mess. Actually, I wish there were more mess like this every year here. I don’t mind the mess. It’s only one time your oldest son gets married to a wonderful girl like you. I couldn’t be happier!”

Kirstin flushed a bit. She had been spending most of her time at the Angel’s house and Paula had been so incredible to her these past few days. She was so helpful and never said anything about the mess they were trying to make sure everything was perfect for the wedding.

     “Don’t blush, baby.” Ashley chuckled.

“Stop it.” Kirstin hit him in the arm.

“You two!” Paula exclaimed with a big smile.

“Let’s go to my room first?” Ashley asked Kirstin.

     “Ok.”

“I imagine my room is still there.” Ashley asked because of the chaos that was his house.

“Yes, it’s there!” Kirstin answered annoyed.

“I love when I get to you like that.” he chuckled and kissed her on the lips.

“You two go upstairs and I’ll be back there helping Grace and Gloria, alright?”

     “Ok.” Ashley answered.

“Oh, Paula, let them know that we're here, but we're in Ash's room. I'll be right there."

“Ok. Take your time, dear.” Paula said and disappeared while Ashley and Kirstin headed up to his room.
