| Lord Islington of the Tremere is an ancient Cainite who seems to have been driven partially mad by time. While not as paranoid as many elders, Islington is still considered mad by many as he seems to prefer the company of plants (who he claims talk to him) over the company of anyone else. Islington seems especially fond of a particular plant he calls Sir Baublegeuse, and on the two occasions when another vampire has insulted or attempted to touch this plant they have swiftly met the final death. Only those who do not know Islington well assume he is mad however, and those who do know him realize that he does indeed speak with plants, seeing as he is the foremost known Botanist and Herbalist in the world and also the originator of Green Path Thaumaturgy. It is claimed that Lord Islington's knowledge of Herbalism and Botany, as well as his proficiency with blood magic have enabled him to concoct poisons lethal to vampires, and his name is whispered as a legend, much like the Boogeyman to young Tremere who study the green path. The strange part is that the malkavians also whisper the name of Lord Islington as well, and some in fact claim him to be an elder of their bloodline. This of course is completely preposterous... The Tremere attest that a malkavian could never infiltrate clan Tremere, while the Malkavians simply huddle together in the corner giggling quietly amongst themselves.... |
