| Rumours: This is a way of finding information coming out in the world, but rumours are just that; RUMOURS. Not necessarily truth. The rumours you gain are based around your clan membership or background, information network, or influences you control, but remember, just because you have the influence does not mean you will necessarily get the rumour. You must spend your influences to gain rumours. Here is an example: Prince Kharn has 5 levels of Police influence. - He spends 3 points to have Police hassle some local business owners and arrest Lorenzos ghoul. (Since he happens to know where Lorenzos ghoul is) - He spends one point for rumours - He spend one point to have the influence protect itself. This will allow him to get one rumour and protect any damage to influences up to one point. If say there is an internal investigation and all police influence drops by one point, Kharns will stay at 5. Here is an example of a rumour he may get: Police: Police are in search of a man known to be stealing blood from local clinics. (Rumours are usually based on information that may be of interest to you. That is the reason why you would hear said rumour.) Or instead of doing anything else he could spend all 5 points on Rumours, and get as many as are available. He would then not be able to do anything else with the influence, until the next write-up. This can be risky in case something happens to the influence or you need some of it in an emergency. A reminder: Write-ups are being processed as they are received. So hopefully you should always have them within a day or two. This also grants a slight advantage to players who deal with things early. Also, please state all of your current influence at the top of your write-ups from now on. |
