We are the senior room - Year 5 and 6 children. Over the last few weeks our class has been doing a study about our up and coming school hall. In pairs our aim was to design and plan the interior or exterior, making it practical, suitable, easy care (because we do not have a caretaker.), and of course safe for our school. We had to measure our hall bit by bit. Then we had to draw the hall on a graph , adding in our ideas. After this we wrote an aim, brief and explanation. We put it all on paper (neat and tidy). They all turned out great. Some of our ideas were: INTERIOR Most of the children decided to have Hardiglaze (easy care surface) in the toilets and kitchen. Most children decided to have an imitation wood for the stage. There were a mixture of ideas for the flooring, some of them were vinyl and imitation wood. Curtaining was just a matter of choosing a colour. EXTERIOR Children doing this had all sorts of ideas (goldfish ponds!) Paths could be made out of cobble stones, shells, paving and lots of others. Some people had indigenous plants others didn't. There were all sorts of flowers. Some people had verandahs, some people had extensions. There were a LOT of ideas. I hope some of our ideas will be used in our hall.
