Technical Apects of UNCL:
UNCL functions properly. According to
DoctorHTML, all of the links work, although some are unavilable to a
remote
user who is not a student of the college.
UNCL uses correct XHTML coding, although
DoctorHTML had a few comments about the form and
table structure.
According to
DoctorHTML, UNCL is accessible by all versions of
Internet Explorer. However, Netscape
is not as fully supported, especially
version 3. Opera is almost fully supported. Along with this information,
there is one more thing
to take into consideration, and that is the fact that UNCL has two stylesheets,
which Doctor HTML
may not have recognized.
UNCL's entry page loads in about 25 to 30 seconds over a 56k modem. This is due to the few images
on the page. Most of the site loads much more quickly.
UNCL's other pages load in the same amount of time or less, since they generally contain less images.
UNCL requires very little scrolling to see the entire page. Only a few links require scrolling in order to be viewed.
UNCL is The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's library website: http://www.lib.unc.edu/
