I think that UNCL has very nicely designed navigation.
The entry page begins with a bar across the top which allows the user to search the library catalog
without having to enter the catalog first. This bar is also on all of UNCL's
other pages.
From the entry page, the user can access all of the pages available from
UNCL, but yet UNCL's
entry page still looks uncluttered. One section
of the entry page is divided into the categories:
Books & More, Articles &
More, Course Materials, Services, Assistance, and Technology.
Under each of these headings are a few links.
Along the left side of the page is a navigation bar, which links to information about the library
Along the right side of the page are two links: @sk a Librarian, and My @account. @sk a Librarian appears
on every other
library site, while My @ccount only appears on selected pages.
At the bottom of the page are a few links: Home, Hours, Search This Site, and UNC Home. These links are also
on every other
library site, although only some of the sites have "Search This Site."
UNCL is The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's library website: http://www.lib.unc.edu/
