Hey Kids.
I received the following e-mail in response to a little tribute I posted recently honoring
Pastor Charles "The Jellyfish" Russell.
Anyone got any solid intell on the poster's
speculations?

Just read in Bergman's new book that Patti Smith was raised a JW. Figures.
My personal
view is Russell was gay.
If you take Maria's testimony about Rose Ball as fact, perhaps he was more a pedophile.
Or maybe he was just impotent.
He definitely wasn't a "normal" heterosexual.
Penton argues he simply
didn't have much libido and had a Victorian attitude about sex which is why he and Maria never got together though married. (Apocalypse

Possibly, but the above alternatives are more likely to me.
Have you got any
information about his favorite color being pink (which is why they buried him by a Pyramid in pink granite rather than more common colors of granite--1919 Convention Report; The Watchtower and the
Masons)?
I recently got an email
from someone selling a rare Bible Student tribute to Russell along the lines of
The Messenger of Laodicea.
It was supposedly done up in pink with a nice bow in his honor.
Perhaps I'll be brave enough to tackle this issue in
print some day. :-)
