When I say "perverts" I'm not talking about historians who have actual evidence that Russell's sex practices had some kind of influence on the BSA, I'm talking about people (apparently like the guy who sent that email), who have interests in the sexual preferences and practices of a 50 year old man for "other" reasons.
JJ,
I think you said this research would only interest "desparate historians and perverts"...
The guy who e-mailed me is a serious
researcher and he has uncovered some fantastic stuff exposing the Bizarre Nature of the Watchtower.
What do you mean by "other" reasons?
Do you or JH have any evidence that it influenced the BSA besides just the broad, general
fact that religious leaders have influence over their followers?
This is why I posted the subject.
I want to see if any evidence surfaces, if such exists.
I can comment directly on this:
I know for a fact that the
ABNORMAL Sexuality of 3rd Watchtower President Homer Knorr and his Sidekick Fred Franz has horribly affected multitudes of jehovah's witnesses.
During the late 40s thru the 1950s, Homer Knorr was constantly spouting off about "Cultivating Singleness"... or if married, to forgo having any children.
When I was a member of the Watchtower I knew a brother, an elder in Raleigh - he was in his early sixties when I came in in 1971 - and he was bitter, bitter, bitter that he and his wife had swallowed that IDIOTIC advice from Knorr and Franz about not having children. The older he got, and the more irrevocably childless he became... (biological clocks tick away) the more bitter he became.
I cite him as ONE example among many.
