JH,
You make valid points regarding external pressure, etc., etc. And I would agree that external pressure where it hurts (power and money); of course will do more to reform than small groups of internal descent. Nevertheless, I don't completely disregard the effects that the protestant reformation had on internal thinkers within the Catholic Church of its time and I realize that the final movements of change have to come from within.
Furthermore, I do not discourage JW reformers, telling them (in effect that ) their efforts are in vain; simply because I may think their situation bleak. I promote and support the reformers cause and truly believe that while small; their efforts can be beneficial to individuals and in the end MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE perhaps even save some lives; certainly not a small accomplishment by any means of measurement.
You and others are of a differing opinion and that is fine. ...I just hate to see such efforts among JW's discouraged and sometimes even belittled, simply due to the bleakness of their situation. The comparison I gave, of course does not match in every respect, but IMO the point is made and the illustrative comparison is still valid.
