I hope that I am not being dogmatic on insisting that there must be some truth behind our flood myths. I do not accept that flooded rivers or lakes could have caused this.
Some fellow and his family at some time in our past must
have clearly thought that they had been saved from a worldwide flood. He would not have been able to see any land above the water in order for the story to be consistent.
Something like this had to have happened to someone in the
fertile crescent.
