Government
By Da Judge, circa 1928
"The United States patent office is open to the public. Its records may be inspected by any citizen. This records disclose that machines have been invented and patented by the use of which great power produce by waves of the ocean could be made to produce all of the heat ,light and power the people might require and that at a very low cost."
Has anyone yet found that 200 mpg carburetor everyone used to talk about, bought by some big oil company? Ah ha, here it is:
"It is well-known that there is a patented device whereby automobiles can be cheaply operated with the use of a very small amount of gasoline, and others that can be operated WITHOUT GASOLINE".
"Why are not these machines employed to harness the power to produce things for man? Because the great and selfish corporate interests that own and operate the coal fields and the oil wells and the gas factories and the electric light plants have such a tremendous influence and power that they can suppress them. And the people suffer."
Da Judge continues with his diatribe against the democracies and he appalled at that.
"The purpose here is to prove from INDISPUTABLE evidence that the supreme governing power exercised over the nations of the world in the past six thousand years has been unrighteous; that the time has come for great change; and the beginning of that time of change is marked by the year 1914; that hereafter the governing power over the peoples of the earth shall be exercise by One in whom resides supremacy; and that the governing power shall be exercised in righteousness for the benefit of the people."
There it is! 1914 is the beginning...Could that be the first time the switch from 'end' to 'beginning' occurred? Government, 1928, page 28-29.
He goes on to describe every government in ancient
times as being ruled by Satan except for one however, "The natural descendants of Abraham were organized into a government." (pg.43) So, patriarchs or family heads were a government? Judges only were appointed during wars and Kings came
about AGAINST the wishes of Yahweh. We can see where the idea of 'organization' really got it's start for the WTS.
Da Judge continues to draw parallels between governments-rulers-priests/clergy-Satan. He also states that since the
days of Jeshrun, Deut. 32.16-18 that "Israel ceased to be God's people and were cast away from him." Hmmm. I thought this "casting away" did not occur until the jews failed to recognize the Messiah?
If you look at the context of
this statement, (44 Moses came with Joshua son of Nun and recited all the words of this song in the people's hearing. New Jerusalem Bible) this is part of a song that Moses recited to the Israelites just before Yahweh took him and the
Israelites entry into the 'promised land'. If we believe Da Judge's interpretation, the nation of Israel was cast off from God even BEFORE THEN!
"Every nation and government on earth since then has been dominated by the subtle and wicked influence of Satan. This is true, even though few people know that fact."
You see, we now are all privy to special info direct and "the indisputable facts show, from Jehovah God." This whole book is a diatribe against clergy/government. He uses every tactic to ensnare and infuriate the reader, using 'urban legends', 'straw men', 'circular reasoning', etc....Its all there. Rutherford ignores any common good done by governments, corporations and religions in his quest to gain adherents to his version of 'truth'.
Do you know what I have found to be the greatest difference between the WTS of Russell and the WTS of Rutherford? Russell spoke volumes about Jesus and fruitage of the spirit,
he emphasized Jesus and the love of God, almost to the point of admitting Jesus as God. Rutherford emphasized strife and hatred, all of the negative aspects of humanity. I speculate that Russell may have eventually acknowledged his
mistaken faith in chronology . Rutherford is a 'wolf' to the core and we can probably rest the apostasy of the WBTS at his feet.
On a side note, I got my copy of the New Jerusalem Bible and it is a fabulous version of the
sacred scriptures. It uses "Yahweh God" wherever the tetragramaton occurred and the text is modern and concise. It took me a while to get it, since the bookstores seem to be dominated by non-catholic translations. My hat is off to the
scholars, Jesuit and secular, that translated this masterpiece.
