Hi WW,

you wrote,
"On a side note, I got my copy of the New Jerusalem Bible and it is a
fabulous version of the sacred scriptures. It uses "Yahweh God" wherever
the tetragramaton occurred and the text is modern and concise. It took
me a while to get it, since the bookstores seem to be dominated by
non-catholic translations. My hat is off to the scholars, Jesuit and
secular, that translated this masterpiece."

---- I like the New Jerusalem Bible too. By the way, is yours in single column or double column format? I miss the single column format of the old Jerusalem Bible!
Another version I like very much is
THE CATHOLIC STUDY BIBLE,
Editor in Chief: Donald Senior.
It's study notes are very good, especially on the formation of the canon and on the general
thought of each book. Pretty easy to read, too
(the version is the "New American Bible").

I also like the CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY BIBLE, another Catholic study translation, originally prepared for the people in the Phillipines.

Anyway, best to you.
Jaypeeto :)
