Dear Al,

Your point about 1947 and 1948 is quite pertinent.

Observe, however, that the edict was in the fall of 1947 and by the spring of 1948 the Jews officially were established in Israel.

I would have you note, however, if you follow the concepts of why this occurred, it has been expressed quite specifically that basically, after the shock of the HOLOCAUST, that as long as the Jews didn't have a country of their own, and they were always in exile as alien residents in the Western world, that they would be subject to extermination.

Thus it made sense to partition palestine.

In this regard, if you know the scriptures in general, you know the "symbolic" gestures are critical as far as the Bible is concerned.

For instance, Israel was said to have been "afflicted" by Egypt for 230 years, but that affliction began symbolically with the teasing of Isaac by his half-Egyptian brother Ishmael.

Thus in this regards, as far as observation goes, we can't exclude the symbolic partitioning which led to the actual official turnover of part of Palestine to the Jews.

Furthermore, the chronology affords us this focus based upon several other parameters, such as the jubilee cycle being in line with 1947 and 1996 which is in line with 36CE and 455BCE. But of further note, both events happened within a 12-month period, so we're not really splitting anything here. The kingdom was setup 1992-1993 which matches 1947-48 year.

But of truly critical note, is how this is affected by Luke which talks about the natural Israelites going into exile "among the nations" whom would trample them, until the "appointed times of the nations are fulfilled." Thus this would be a critical contrast to them being in exile from their homeland, since it would seem they had now officially returned. This happened in phases, of course, as you mentioned.

Thus the reference to "when you see branch of the fig tree become tender, you know summer is near" was once clearly understood to refer to the rebirth of the NATION OF ISRAEL, which was directly related to them returning to their homeland. And that this advent would be a clue as to when the Messiah would arrive.

And even more specifically, as this phase-in occurs, the direct trampling would stop in conjunction with the 1290 days. That would be a great time for the Jews. But then 45 years latter, at 1335 days, there would be another important event, clearly referencing the Messiah coming about 45 years after a distinct direct ending of the trampling.

It seems clear, in the modern setting, that the Jewish advent into Palestine represented a technical change in direct trampling of them by nations, since as they claimed, having their own state would give them a refuge from the nations, who up to now found it quite convenient to simply exterminate them for no other reason than because of their Christian brotherly love for Jews, right? (satire)

So from a chronological point of view, these specific years are marked, but some clear event changes are not hard to recognize during these years as prophetic milestones. The 1947 declaration was significant. Everything doesn't happen at once and with one event. But certainly 1947 was a critical turning point, and certainly an easy Biblical milestone for dating the end of the "1290 days" as the Bible often recognizes the symbolic over the literal.
