Ummmmm, my probable ONLY reference to this is that the fall of 1947 and the spring of 1948 are within the same YEAR. I think the year prophesies are fulfilled within a year's time in general.
So I have no problem with 1948. But some have focussed on the beginning of the official process in 1947 by the U.N. and I think it was significant enough to have relevance.
But more relevant,is that we're not talking about two years but within the same 12-month period when it boils down to it.
I like things neat for the sake of the numbers and so it has been convenient to relate to the 1947 event. I don't think this if forced.
In an unabridged dictionary which lists important events, under November 29, 1947 it says: "Partition of Paestine into a Jewish and an Arab state is voted by the U.N. General Assembly. The Arabs reject the plan."
To some, this could be the official rebirth of the Jewish state, I would think. I have not problem considering it a symbolic event as far as the Bible would be concerned.
