This is difficult to articulate so bear with me.
Is there an unacknowledged link between the resurrection hope and what we call spiritism?
Specifically, If the resurrection hope is valid,
does it infer that psychic abilities are inherent
human powers not immediately dependent on demonic
intervention?
Whew!
Ok, nobody to my knowledge has solved the "copy"objection to the resurrection hope-
at a future time God puts all the needed molecules
back in exactly the same order - so that a copy
of you exists in the future. (Doesn't sound like
much of a hope)
However, suppose that human consciousness was in
some ways "nonlocal" - that the brain did not originate
consciousness as much as "receive" it like a TV set.
(Similar to arguements by Rupert Sheldrake about
ESP like abilities in animals). If so, we might expect
that occasionally the miraculous origin of these
faculties might "leak" thru from time to time, giving
the appearance of telepathy, remote viewing and so on.
Thus "spiritism" might paradoxically be the greatest
support of the resurrection hope!!!
