dear Julie,

Thanks for the kind words. I've been lurking on H20 for several months from my work computer. Now that I'm set up at home I can participate without cheating my employer. I enjoy a wide diversity of thinking and especially discussions about religion, science and philosophy. Usually I'm way out of my league, but still find it a lot of fun.
I never have been convinced by the biblical account of the resurrection story. Seems there are too many other non-xtian accounts that sound almost identical to that of Jesus for me to think it was anything but synmbolic. I also never thought God would want to resort to miracles to attract believers. Even when he supposedly did perform miracles it only lasted a little while and they wanted more proof! Wasn't it ten lepors that Jesus healed and only one accepted him? How about the parting of the Red Sea, how long was it before most all of the Israelites rebelled? Doesn't sound like supposed miracle births, bodily resurrections and the like are very solid ideas to base your faith on. Personally if I were to call myself a Christian, I'd that the words of Jesus (thery're in red in the KJames red letter addition) and throw out the rest.

Now that'll probably get me flamed real fast.

Cheers, mntzion
