| RECENT RELEASE INFO WINTER 2001 The last 10 months have seen a number of Libertine releases. 'Slowdown' (T.S.B.) is a U.K. import consisting of the 'Rise Above' EP and out -of -print first Bomp/Alive single, plus some early covers and some really eary demos! Pretty raw stuff, look out! 'Next Life' came out on vinyl, courtesy of RadioBlast in Germany, and sounds really great on plastic - they did a killer job on the mastering! An Australian import of 'Next Life' (Stolen/International Trash) just came out too. This one has different cover artwork and 6 bonus tracks not on the U.S. (Substandard) release, including '"Two Steps Slow" and the cover of "Somebody Got Murdered" by the Clash. A lot of new compilations came out as well. A different version of "Beautiful Disaster" is featured on Volume 3 of the ambitious 'A Fistfull of Rock and Roll' series (Caroline/Tee Pee), which has just about every decent underground rock'n'roll band you could think of on it, plus liner notes by our pal Howie Pyro! "Moscow" and "Heartbreak" showed up on on CDs that came with issues of Germany's 'Ox' and New Jersey's 'Underground' magazines, repectively. Two Libertine tracks appear on 'Syracuse Hardcore' (Watermark), which also features easy listening acts like Earth Crisis and Another Victim. The Coldfront/Sin City comp, 'Les Pauls and Breaking Glass' was just released, and the Junk Records 2001 comp should be out any day. And that should just about do it for now.. |
