Hyrule Magic Guide
Introduction The Monologue

It's the monologue, all the text which is in the game (well... only like 80% is listed here).

As soon as you enter, you'll be greeted with the HUGE amount of text which is in the game.

I suppose i could go through each one and tell them where each of them are used... but that's not what this section is for... if you just want to know where they appear you can grab my 'uncompleted' document (not yet but will be) here.

The text you have there, you can edit them by double clicking on them and change them on the field on the bottom, after you finish with them, you have to press "set" to set them onto the rom.

The dictionary just includes character groups so commonly used letters can be put into one byte instead of how ever much was needed, thus increasing the length which you can enter.

I found the monologue editor one of the most stable function in the program... so... enjoy.

NOTE: the ending message (371) is not complete for some weird reason, the rest... well you have to work with that in hex with a hex editor... it's not too hard if you know how to relative search.

Why did i say it contains 80% of the text in the game? it is because the rest of the text are the credits text which can't be edited through the monologue editor (yes more hex editing time), there's no dictionary in the ending text so you can just relative search say... "EXECUTIVE PRODUCER" and you'll be able to find where that is :)

That's about it for the monologue.. they are all pretty self explanatory, eg/ [scroll] - scrolls the text, [3] - 3rd line of text, [sound2D] - play sound, [waitkey] - wait for key input from user etc. (it's all in the original helpfile)
