Lloth is the goddess of the Drow an evil deity I'm trying to learn more about. She is also known as the Queen of spiders and as you can guess she is female. When the elves where forced under the earth into the underdark it was Lloth that took them in and perhaps she was the one who helped their bodies adapt to their new home. It is no doubt though that she is the one who molded their society and way of life. Being a goddess of chaos she doesn't like it when Menzobaranzen becomes to quiet and orderly. As an example; when she caoxed Matron Baenre to try to take over Mithril Hall, a conflict of which if they lost or won the order Menzobaranson just barely grasps falls to pieces. If won there would be great trouble in tying to run Mithril hall and Menzobaranzon at the same time, plus the risk of being attacked not only from surface dwellers, but from other drow too. If they lost it would cause trouble for the Baenre and they could fall from Lloth's favor, and that would be very troublesome if all the houses decided to get rid of the first ruling house. Either way it was a win for Lloth because they both resulted in havok among the drow.
Lloth has some ugly hand maidens called yochlols that seemed to look like heads of oozing wax or something. Ew! From what I have read she usually appears as a beautiful drow female perfect in all features and ways. I doubt its her real appearance but who knows if she even has one. She also has a mean wraith. A wraith that Drizzt had to see and face. A wraith that poor Dinin Do'Urden had in the end *sniffle*. When a drow does something to really displease Lloth she turns them into a Drider, half drow and half spider. Its not a pretty sight, they are very agressive and fierce warriors. A monster you wouldn't want to face. |
