"Let's Get SUEd"

1 Sandiego 6000
(Belgium)- Shake Your Hip (from "Worst Case Scenario" 1994W: Barman, M: dEUS)

"It's the last song I recorded alone in March 2000. I stole everything from dEUS (except the 0'37->0'40
riff I stole from "How Can I Resist" by Zita Swoon). The mix is much better than the other one and I
had a lot of fun doing the beat with a metal bin and a screw-driver. I tried to do my best.  Have fun
    and Shake Your Hip !"

2 Debaser
(Spain)- Jigsaw You (from "Worst Case Scenario" 1994, W: Barman, M: Barman/Carlens)

3 Sancho Alpaca
(Australia)- You Can't Deny What You Liked As A Child (b-side on the "Instant Street" CD-single 1999, W: Barman, M: Barman/Janzoons/Ward)
Anthony Pateras - drums, Luke Peyton - guitar,  Mark Woodford - bass, Stan Zylinski - guitar and
    vocals
Recorded with a Tascam 4-track and Adel's computer. Mixed at Adel's house by our friend Greg.

"We chose this song because it makes us laugh. It is quintessentially dEUS in so many ways, (who
else would write a love song about Martina Hingis). We also decided on this particular song
because it's a b-side and not very well known, which is a crime that we hope to remedy, at least in
    this small way."

4 Madeleine
(Germany)- Magdalena (from "The Ideal Crash" 1999, W: Barman/Ward, M: Barman/Ward/Mommens)

"I chose magdalena, because i really like this song. it reminds me so much of what i experienced
once. and my own name is just the french version of magdalena. i played all the instruments
myself, only the drums are a sample i stole from "what i want" by mucca macca. i tried to make my
version sad and somewhat seeming helpless about the situation.
"

5 Alex (Nameless)
(Belgium)- Old Me Now (based on "Little Arithmetics" from "In A Bar Under The Sea" 1996, W: Barman, M:, Barman/Ward)

"It's the first the song I recorded alone in September 99. I 'borrowed' the riff from Zita Swoon, the
beat from Soulwax and the lyrics from dEUS. At the end of the song, I play something I found when I
was at the belgian north sea two years ago. I think the mix and the sound of the song is really bad.
The phone ring make me sick but I think that the cover is funny and cool"

6 Son Of Pop
(Sweden)- Let's Get Lost (from "Worst Case Scenario" 1994, W: Barman, M: Barman/Carlens)

7 Swirl
(Portugal) - Serpentine (from "In A Bar Under The Sea" 1996, W & M: Barman)

"Jeff Buckley and Me singing a dEUS song. Weird? Yes, but it is my way of playing gods and
monsters and keep the angels alive. OK! Want a good reason? Ilove this song. Jos Polido"

8 Frederik Stenberg
(Sweden)- Overflow (b-side on the "Theme From Turnpike" CD-single 1996, W & M: Barman)

9 Avi & Asaf
(Israel)- Turnpike To Nowhere (based on "Theme From Turnpike" from "In A Bar Under The Sea" 1996, (W & M: Barman))

bass & vocal - Avi, trumpet, guitar & vocal - Asaf "goodfellow" Koren Asaf's little brother Ayal - intro,
    Iris - listening & surviving. Recorded between 1999 & 2000.
"Consider yourself lucky for not hearing the first two versions we made of this
    song, u wouldn't have survived!
"

10 Rudi Dornbusch meets the Revolutionary Puny Marimbas Experimental Ensemble in the Arabian Nights (Rodrigo Paulino & Ricardo Ramos)
(Portugal)- Great American Nude (from "Worst Case Scenario" 1994, W: Barman/Trouv/Carlens, M: Trouv)

"Ricardo and I made a Great American Nude cover because we obviously like and actually didn't
even try to do anything else. We started recording it in a very relaxed and funny way, in one
afternoon, on the first time we played together."

11 Litos
(Portugal)- Instant Street (from "The Ideal Crash" 1999, W: Barman/Ward, M: Barman/Ward/Mommens)

12 Avi
(Israel)- A Shocking Lack Thereof (from "In A Bar Under The Sea" 1996, W: Ward/Carlens/Barman, M: Janzoons)

guitar & vocal - Avi, trumpet, two words, wind & laughing - Asaf "goodfellow" Koren.  Recorded in
      1999 on a Friday.
"a mad attempt while trying to prove to this world that not all boys
like cheese, and not all girls like ice cream."

13 Simon B
(France)- Opening Night (from "In A Bar Under The Sea" 1996; W:Barman/Ward, M: dEUS)

"From what i remember, I recorded this song with an acoustic guitar on my computer, with one of
those computer's mic that makes a lot of noise when you're breathing to much in it. I kind of
messed up the beginning, i think, but that's ok. This is already 2 years old or something. Now i
play in a band called Exsonvaldes ->
http://exson.free.fr"

14 Salvador Dali's Moustache (Rodrigo Paulino & Teresa Gonalves)
(Portugal)- I Don't Mind Whatever Happens When You Shake Your Hip (based on "I Don't Mind..." (from "In A Bar Under The Sea" 1996, W &M: Carlens) and "Shake Your Hip" (from "Worst Case Scenario", 1994 W: Barman, M: dEUS) )

"We were in a cafe when I told her about the covers CD and, joking, she asked me if we could do
one too. A couple of weeks after, we got together with nothing  but our acoustic guitars and
recorded it.  The result was recorded in a bit of an afternoon. She was a bit uncomfortable and
hardly sings but if you listen carefully you can hear her voice three or four times. And it's such a
pity 'cause she has a lovely voice!
"

15 Stphane Thirion
(Portugal)- Everybody's Weird (from "The Ideal Crash" 1999, W: Barman, M: Barman/Ward)

Arranged, performed and recorded at home by Steph C.T.  Drums sample taken from "Everybody's
      Weird (demo version)", by dEUS

16 Tiago Serdio
(Portugal)- Roses (from "In A Bar Under The Sea" 1996, W: Barman/Carlens, M: Barman)

"A guitar, bass, shitty 1,5 cm computer mic, a theremin emulator for pc controled my mouse
(you CANNOT imagine the pacience for getting the notes right!!!), and a pc groovebox - cos I dont
have a drum set. I did my best really, got carried away at the end though. I still ask myself why I
chose Roses - maybe cos throughout the song you get a bit of all the dEUS universe. Hope you
       enjoy it! :)"

17 The People Of Zetland featuring the Ilk of Moomba
(U.K.)- Playus dEUS (M. and David Hawkins, based on dEUS)

"I have worked with Dave on several musical projects before, but they have all been quite serious.
This was created in a couple of hours, when both of us happened to be in the same town for a
few days, and we think it's quite fun.  So have a smoke, chill out and enjoy."
