Background
The first
constitution (2004 Constitution) was written by Venorin
Generoso (left), founder and first president of LNSA.
It
became effective for a period of three years, until John
Ryan M. Debil
(right) assumed in the office of the president in 2007.
The main objectives of the first constitutional amendment
are as follows:
-
to
redefine clearly the
eligibility of the officers and their duties
and responsibilities;
-
to clearly present to the students, faculty
and academic head our principles, policies and
rights as a recognized student
organization of the Colegio;
-
to expand the rights and privileges of the
members of the organization, and;
-
to strengthen the foundations of the
organization as part of our goal to leave a
long-lasting legacy in the School of Nursing and
the Colegio.
One of the
proposed revisions was to change the name of the
organization from LNSA to Letran Integrated Community of
Efficient Nursing Students (LICENSE); however, the
founders and pioneer batch appealed to the president
[John Ryan M. Debil] the organization's original name.
Debil approved the petition and thereby retaining the
name LNSA. The 2007 constitution was ratified prior to
the opening of academic year 2007-2008.
Debil once again initiated another constitutional
amendment in year 2008. It was ratified by the members
of the Executive Board on June 16, 2008 and was
official ratified on June 18, 2008, signed by Prof. Myra
D. Oruga, MCBP, MPH and Prof. Cecilia R. Dilag, RN, MAN,
the Executive and Deputy advisers, respectively, with
Prof. Alita R. Conde, RN, PhD, Academic Dean of Nursing
and Mr. Joel C. Navarez, Assistant Director of the
Office of Studenty Affairs. |
