666 Ave Satanas

1985
The year of creation by Belial Koblak as a song (still in creation) and concept. The chosen direction of Lethal Prayer is of a far darker and extreme nature than the current band of which Belial is co-founder of, Silent Images.

85/86
Belial decides to work on Lethal Prayer as a personal endeavor as a departure from current band(s) and more songs are being written in this direction. The perpetually growing song itself "Lethal Prayer" reaches 5 to 8 parts around 13 minutes

86/87
Jim Saleone is auditioned for Silent Images and is merged into Lethal Prayer and becomes the first official drummist.

87/88
Belial begins working with Dan "The Arghman" Mackosco in his creation "Backlash". A rare 2 song rehearsal tape is recorded. Silent Images prepares to record. Saleone is only working with Belial in LP, several songs are written.

88/89
SI records demo "Test Of Silence", restructures lineup, plays last performance in a 2 hour set and ends shortly after. Saleone & Belial continue on writing in LP, the song itself reaches several more parts and is at the 20 minute mark. Backlash records first official demo "Unleashed". Members of local band "Emanon" begin working within Backlash and several shows are performed. Belial joins forces with Vincent Crowley in "Acheron".

89/1990
LP is put on a short hiatus after Salenoe departs due to personal family issues. A live performance of LP with Backlash and Emanon is performed with the help of Jim Tanner filling in for drums on all acts. Belial plays several shows with Acheron and records the 2 song demo "Future Release". The brief hiatus for LP comes to a end when Belial re-unites with ex SI member Mike Chiccitt, the duo begin trying out several lineups and write new material.

90/91
Belials' involvement with Acheron ends as Crowley relocates the entity to Florida. Chiccitt resigns from LP to go on and help form "Invid". Paul "Leviathan" Miklos is brought into thy realm as the first official vocalist. Pat Carroll is adopted as the new drummer. With the help of friend Shawn Madden of "Assailant" on bass the 3 song rehearsal tape is recorded in the newly developed rehearsal/studio space "The Chambers Of Prayer" It is at this stage that Belial begins stepping up the mail correspondence and starts doing interviews for several underground zines. The tape trading circuit sees over 250 to a unknown amount of these cheesy rehearsal tapes spread around the globe and the plague of Lethal Prayer is now imminent.

91/92
Former bassist from previous band relations, Dan Hopfer is re-enlisted on bass. After only 1 show and several party performances both Hopfer and Carroll depart to form Stumpgrinder. Saleone is re-recruited as session drummist for recording the demo "Thee Unholy Sacraments". A live performance is also done with the help of Jerry McNiese from Leprosy filling in on bass. It is at this point in time where Belial begins to only work on the song LP on specific days of the year (IE. Walpurgis). The epic reaches 30 minutes.

92/93
A major setback occurs when Belial and The Chambers Of Prayer endure a home invasion and is almost wiped out. The master tape for the demo is lost in the stolen 4-track so only a partial mix down tape was used for the release thus greatly depleting the sound quality and overall presentation of the songs on it. Shortly after Mike Stilson is enlisted as the new drummer. Shawn Madden plays session bass for 2 more live shows. Mike Mann is recruited as drummer for Backlash and quickly moves into LP replacing Stilson. Brought into the realm as rhythm guitarist is Tony Froetschele and also on bass former band mate and drummer from Acheron, Jim Strauss. Several shows are preformed with this lineup and then reluctantly Strauss has to bow out of the band due to personal issues.

93/94
Lethal Prayer venture into Mulberry Street studio to record the 94 demo "Evil Filth." Without a bassist and the recent departure of Froetschele to relocate to Florida, Belial handles all the strings for the demo. Engineered and co-produced by Dave Granati, the release captures a very heavy sound for LP. Shortly after this recording and before it's actual release a rare live radio performance is aired on WRCT by the unholy trio . Dan "Lucifer" Venturino is brought into the unholy union as the new bassist. Mike Mann is temporarily relieved of his position and the slot is filled by Mike Emerson. Several shows are played including a trip to New York City to play at The Wetlands for the Mardi Grind fest. Footage from the previous line up is put together for a video for the song "Conquest" and is aired on local public television PCTV.

94/95
Footage from another local show is taken for a second video for PCTV, "Choirboys". Mike Mann is reinstated into the fold and preparations to record the first full length CD are made. Dan Mackosco founder of Backlash Passes away.

95/96
Once again entering Mulberry Street studios, "Spiritual Decay" is recorded by the sacrilegious quartet. This time the engineer and co-production is with Rob Casper and the overall results are different from work with Granati. Belial moves and the Chambers Of Prayer is temporarily shut down rendering LP unable to continue rehearsals. Belial founds "Decaying Filth Music" as the personal label/distro for LP and other interests of musical debauchery. More camera art is added to the Choirboys video footage to be aired eventually on PCTV. The song Lethalprayer extends to over 45 minutes. Several other songs over the 6 minute mark are written including another 24 minute epic titled "Svengali Absolution".

96/97
A new "Chambers Of Prayer" rehearsal/studio is created and the temporary hiatus ends. Full scale rehearsals resume and preparations for shows promoting the CD are set in motion. A major event happens to halt all future plans when Belial is incarcerated. Upon Belial's release (awaiting trial) a immediate decision to setup shows and record as much as possible is thwarted when Mike Mann resigns from the band not wanting to be involved with the controversy surrounding Belials' situation. This causes a even bigger draw back for the unholy realm as the quest for a new full time replacement is a extremely hard position to be filled in this genre in PGH. The Choirboys video finally airs on PC-TV. A video for "A.M.S.G." featuring only various artwork and no band member clips is made and airs also. Belial begins a solo project called "Paramnesia" after a failed attempt to use a drum machine for LP

97/98
After several drummer auditions, Jim "Azazel" Deabenderfer is enlisted into the ranks of LP. Azazel is able to learn enough material fast enough that a show is set up in Johnstown Pa. with Mi'gauss and Sathanas. Belial begins working with Azazel's "Blood Of Kingu" project and record some sketch versions. Rob "Kinma" Werst is brought into LP as rhythm guitarist. Shortly after Azazel has to unwillingly bow out due to personal circumstances . After Azazel's departure Jeff "Troll"McManus (aka Dusk) of "Dethroned" (WV) is incorporated into the fold as new drummer for LP. Post trial now, Belial will not be re-incarcerated but leaving the country for the next 5 years is forbidden.

98/99
Belial and Azazel lend their services to Jill Daily (now McEntee) of Funerus to preform live for 1 show. Chris Allen of Mi'gauss fills in on the kit. Belial & Azazel also preform 1 BOK song at this event. Incantation was set to headline the show and unfortunately had to cancel their set. A full LP set with Troll behind the skins is played to the thirsty crowd then Mi'gauss closes the evening out. 1 week later LP travel to Tampa Florida to play a killer show with blast-masters Diabolic and the mighty Black Witchery (then known only as Witchery). Execration opened the show with a crushing set as well. A second show in Orlando had to be canceled due to the venue closing. Upon the return home Troll (Dusk) resigns due to inadequate playing and unable to keep up the furious pace that LP needs to exude. Belial records a full demo for Paramnesia. Additions are made to the opus Lethalprayer, now just under 1 hour long. Local drummer "Dr.Vent" is working as session drummer with LP to record a re-make of the track "Myiasis" originally released on the 91 rehearsal tape. This is to be released exclusively on the "Austintageous" memoriam comp CD for Austin May. A home made video is also made for this song but never released. Belial records "Brynhil The 2nd Impression" for the Austintageous CD. Leviathan starts solo project "In-divine". Lucifer creates side project "Lethargic Catastrophe" of which Kinma also becomes involved in. The Lethal Prayer web site is created and mastered by Don Taylor in Australia and Belial.

99/2000
Belial records lead guitar on 1 song for Dusk's solo project "Harvist", A Gleam In The Night CD. During the recording of Myiasis, Kinma is dropped from the realm for unfocused obligations to the recording schedule. Belial begins working with former band mate Dusk as temporary bassist in Dethroned. 1 demo is recorded and released. The Paramnesia CD demo "Obliquitus Paramnesia Paradox" is released. Azazel makes a breif return but personal problems rendure him unable to involve with music at the time. Belial creates side project "Goatrot" and begins working with bassist Jerry McNiese once again. Plans are made for LP to record the song "Castella de la Rotta" (written by former LP rhythm guitarist Mike Chiccitt) for a split 10" vinyl with NJ based thrashers "Strychnine". Long time metal comrade and drummer of "Godless" from Puerto Rico, "Lord Asaradel" relocates to The Chambers Of Prayer to fill the drum position in LP. Unfortunately the stay is short lived and Asaradel must return to the islands, but before his departure Belial & Asaradel record 2 demos sessions for a project called "Mongoloid Chicken". Without a new drummer to fulfill the upcoming recording plans the talents of Dr.Vent are summoned once more. Dusk is brought into Goatrot as session drummer

2000/01
The 10"split is recorded and is the last recording made with Leviathan on vocals for LP. Belial And Leviathan are unable to resolve personal issues between them resulting in Leviathans' departure from the band. Belial and Lucifer take over vocal duties for LP. McNiese resigns as bassist in Goatrot. Pat "Butcher" Scarlatelli (formerly of Cercaria) is inducted into Dethroned as the new bassist relieving Belial of the position. LP perform Myiasis / Castella de la Rotta and Choirboys live at the first Austintageous reunion event with Vent on the skins and Belial and Lucifer doing vocals for the first time live. A limited re-release of Evil Filth on CDr is put out through Decaying Filth Music with Barbarian Wrath promo tracks on the end. Several months later Belial is approached by Dethroned to join forces with them as second guitarist. After heavy contemplation Belial joins and the band morphs into "Warkult". Butcher is given session position in Goatrot on bass. Due to the inability to contribute as much time to LP as needed Lucifer reluctantly leaves the unholy union of LP. Belial prepares more material for Paramnesia. More drummers are auditioned for LP with failed results. Goatrot record 1 song for the "Austintageous Again" CD memoriam comp. At this point Butcher offers his service as session bassist for LP. Warkult supply a track for this comp as well from a recording prior to Belial's addition on guitar and shortly after Butcher's inclusion, when still known as Dethroned. Warkult play 2 well received shows. Belial starts digging up old demo masters and rehearsal tracks of LP and video clips of various shows for a future limited release for Decaying Filth Music.

01/02
The 10" split is released in 666 copies. The Harvist Cd is released on Dark Horizon Records. Warkult and Goatrot play a couple well received shows. Belial records guitar tracks on a project of Vents called "Slaughter Hill"to be featured on the "Austintageous Again CD memoriam comp. The Austintageous Again CD is released and another event is put together honoring it's release with most of the artists on it performing live sets. This includes LP with the return of Lucifer on bass ( for this event only) and Kinma on Rhythm guitar with drums being split between Dr.Vent and Dusk. Belial handles all vocals and lead guitar. Also Goatrot perform a killer set and Warkult blazes out a performance thus showcasing Belial and Dusk in 3 consecutive sets. Lethargic Catastrophe featuring Lucifer,Kinma and Dr.Vent also play. Kinma joins Goatrot as bassist replacing Butcher shortly after. 2 months later Warkult play what would end up being their last show with the full lineup. Towards the end of the year Belial is asked by Incantation if he can help out as session guitarist/vocalist for their upcoming European tour. Honored for the privilege Belial begins diligently rehearsing. Warkult prepares for recording their debut CD for Dark Horizon Records. The European tour with Incantation postpones due to Kyles back injury but 2 shows are set up and played successfully with Belial. Warkult and Goatrot play a short set each at 1 show with local acts. With Drakonis unable to preform on short notice, Butcher and Dusk do vocals for the Warkult set with Butcher making his vocal debut. Warkult record drum and guitar tracks at Belials "Chambers Of Prayer" then finish tracking while Belial is on tour. Plans are set in motion for a split 7" of Warkult with "ONI" for "Soulseller Records". Belial does a full U.S. tour for Incantation with Cannibal Corpse / Dark Funeral and Pissing Razors and extremley grateful for the opportunity. Upon returning home from the extensive 33 show tour, Belial is struck with the unfortunate news that Warkult will be no more and disbands due to personal differences between Dusk and Drakonis. With this situation freeing up more time Belial is able to reassemble LP with Kinma returning to rhythm guitar, Butcher as full time bassist, "Mike Rush" ( Cercaria / Raising Pilate) on percussion and Matt "Beelzebub" Dorsey (Pummelhog) on vocals. Things progress very fast with this line up. The split 7" of Warkult / ONI is released in limited edition of 666 copies and sells out in pre release sales.

02/03
LP perform their first full show near the end of Summer with this line up and play for 1 hour. Plans are made to record 3 songs for a MCD to be released through Decaying Filth Music in mid Fall / early Winter as a precursor to the next and long awaited full length CD. The recording takes place at Dr. Vents Emergency room studio. This also becomes the first recording of LP to have a second guitarist playing in the process and also may prove to be the last as 1 month after recording Kinma is dropped a second time from the LP ranks once again (amicably) but his work on the recording and in the band is appreciated. Belial decides to maintain LP as a 1 guitar unit from this point on. 2 nights of back to back shows for LP with Stumpgrinder are set up at a local venue with this also being the MCD release as well. These 2 nights would also prove to be the last presentation of this LP line up. Unforeseen legal issues render Rush unable to actively involve with LP until early in 2003, and this never happens as would turn out to be the case.

03/04...
Dark Horizon Records release the Warkult CD "Persaverance Of Aggression". 2 tentative shows for LP are scheduled then canceled when it becomes apparent Rush would not be able to play them. Continuing under the pretense that Rush would return to the band upon completing his legal obligations, a small East coast tour begins to form for the Summer but this never takes place as Rush is officially out of the band by mid Spring. The quest for another percussionist begins once again and in another turn of events in early Spring Beelzebub relieves himself of vocalist duties to pursue personal endeavors. His departure is amicable as well and this situation brings about Belial and Butcher becoming the full time vocalists for LP. Writing, practice and rehearsals commence fervorently as much as time allows then Belial suffers a work related injury which require surgery thus lending to allot more time to write and rehearse and continue the quest for a new percussionist. Several labels have expressed deep interest in working with LP to record / release the next full length but the inevitable drummer plight stagnates the process. Belial and Butcher forge onward into the unholy realms of what is Lethal Prayer and continue auditioning percussionists to unleash their blasphemous fury with what will prove to be their most extreme release ever. Any serious inquiry for the position , session or other wise is encouraged to contact Belial or Butcher...

2004/2005
Throughout the spring and summer of 2004, Belial & Butcher embarked upon re-recording the MCD "Theosophical Decadence" entirely, except the original drum tracks. The results were better than expected using new in-line recording gear. While this was being accomplished they also headed back into the "EmegencyRoom" studio and with the addition of Vent lending his drumming to LP once again, the trio recorded the instrumental epic "Frozen Darkness". Several other experimental versions of a few other songs were also recorded. During these sessions both Belial and Vent under went surgeries yet still managed to persevere in a short period of time. Mid summer the trio performed a closed live session at Belial's "Chambers Of Prayer". Belial & Butcher also recorded complete versions of many new songs (excluding drums). Belial and Azazael begin strategizing a combined effort for a new "Blood Of Kingu" recording.

Belial temporarily relocates to central Florida before completing the full migration into the Tampa area. Butcher remains in Pgh and joins forces with Vent and Drakonis in a new project, "Maleficence". Butchers contributions to LP are greatly honored and the lines of communication for possible future session work within LP again remain open.

2005...........
Belial's migration to Tampa Bay area is complete. The new abode is too small to set up the "Chambers Of Prayer" rehearsal/studio but personal writing/recording continue.

Belial has a few sessions working with drummer "Mike Browning" (After Death/Nocturnus/Argus) working on a couple songs for possible future recording. Unfortunately due to time constraints and various personal obligations these sessions end.

Belial places LP on "Hiatus" and begins working on a potential new project yet to be named for the near future. Percussionists interested in possibly recording for LP contact Belial.

Lethalprayer now resides in the swamps of Florida, awaiting................

A new realm of Lethalprayer begins to take root and manifest............
