who is fletcher north?
honestly, I couldn't tell you.
I'm L.E. Swainsleigh, author of Fletcher North. I know, you've never heard of it. There's a good reason for that. The book has yet to be published. If everything goes according to plan, it will be finished sometime in the spring of 2003. I'll keep you all posted on my progress. In the meantime, why don't you find out a little more about myself, and the up and coming book. Fletcher is quite the addictive little character, so be warned.
~welcome to my world~
The Book
A page dedicated to the life and times of a certain Fletcher North, and how the book came to be. Inspirations for the stories, the cast, etcetera. If you're in it, you might want to take a look.

The Creator
A satisfyingly self righteous dedication to yours truly. There are pictures and stories and all that, if you're interested. Don't blame me for my self absorpsion. You all fuel my righteous fire with your sweet, sweet words.

Record of Progress

November 5th, 2002

Geocities, as you may know, is a whiny bitch. Hence why I will soon be undertaking a move to vineyard.net, where my friend Ben works, who will provide me non-irritating webspace. Huzzah! However, it's going to be a little while. I'm at my old school right now, using one of their computers. My computer got a nasty virus... not my fault. My dad uses Outlook Express... or as I like to call it, Lookout Distress. At any rate, I should have my beloved machine back in a couple more days. In awesome news, I just got my SAT scores. Math: 590, Verbal: 670, Total: 1260. Applaud now. I should be hearing from Flagler any day now. Wish me luck, and stand by for notification of the site's big move. Ciao!

My my my, but it's been a long time. Strange news! The formatting of Fletcher North has been completely revamped. Compliments of a crazy idea fabricated by my crazy (and absolutely lovely...) boyfriend, Fletcher North now reads in chronological order. That's right, folks. From the east coast to the deep south all the way to the midwest. And yes, in the new version our dear Fletcher actually makes it there. Some negative things have happened in the refurbishing effort as well. Purgatory, Massachusetts has been cut from the project. I no longer wished to narrate a story in the book from my own voice. You may cry now. It had to be done. As my book has been given a breath of new and improved life, changes are occurring all over the site as well. Namely, the from the book section of the writings page is now a complete list of all nine stories, as they're laid out now. Of course, not all of the links are alive yet. Bear with me, it's hard to write a novel twice over, the second time in html! So stay tuned, new and great things are happening rapidly in the world of Fletcher North. And lucky lucky you, are here to witness its revival. And Kevin, if you're reading this, I love you, and thank you.

At long last, my adoring lovely fans! There is actually art on the art page!!! Go now, soak it up! And tune in later on tonight or tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to be scanning and uploading more pictures, from the dark and gloomy depths of my aincent sketchbooks. It's all in proper chronology, from oldest to newest. It's like a journey through my artistic growth. Fascinating, if you ask me. Have I plugged it enough? Will you visit? You must!

After a couple of weeks of deliberation, procrastination, and even a little hard work, The Vampire in a Condominium has finally come to fruition. It's absolutely hilarious, in a very sick, devious way. I suggest you take a look.

Another strange offshoot of my brain manifested today, in the form of the from the vault section of this very site. It's finally up, and now contains the page that will soon hold my vampire stories. I'm still working on getting them set up for posting, but it shouldn't be very much longer now. Keep checking back, and soon you'll be able to read about all the strange and somehow sickly hilarious adventures of my favourite vampire. I also forgot to mention in my record of progress that another face was added to the background page. It's none other than Heighleigh McCullough. Go take a look at her freckled little face and read a little about her. She's a real fun girl... just don't piss her off when there's a gun close at hand. I also added last night that strange silhouetted self portrait that I'm sure you've noticed. So how about now? Guy or girl? I dare you to guess. ;o) It's a pretty exact profile, except I think my nose is bigger than that... meh. Artistic license.

It's finally happened. I couldn't wait any longer for my website to be open to the public, but of course I didn't want to just go telling everyone who (and what) I am. So today the website, in its entirety, (at least I hope I didn't forget anything...) has been degenderized, and absolutely anyone can come on over and visit, anytime they'd like. Happy birthday to my dog, by the way, she's five today. You can see a picture of my noble mutt, and my other fuzzy faced comrades on the farm page. So hang around, see what you can see, and come back as often as you'd like. The site is constantly changing, and becoming increasingly massive, so most of the time it's worth dropping by. If you really like me, you can even sign my guestbook. ;o) L.E. Swainsleigh's page is finally open to the public! Enjoy!

Just one small addition to the site to report. Have you ever lied awake in the middle of the night, your mind wrought with wondering what the inside of my knee looks like? Well fret not, my loyal subjects. Your prayers have been answered. Now on the photographs page, you can see the photograph sheet from my recent arthroscopy, subsequently allowing you to see parts of my body that you've only dreamt of before. Okay, not really. But it's pretty neat anyway, so take a look.

April 20th, 2002

Finally the background page has a character on it! Mary and Crow's pictures are both in the process of being drawn by a very lazy Les, so give them time. I did, however, manage one for Paleface, the cutest character of the lot. Okay, except maybe for Fletcher.

March 14th, 2002

Not an awful lot to report today, I just put up the background page. Soon you'll be able to go there and check out drawings, descriptions, and information on many of my characters. Aren't you excited? I know I am.

February 23rd, 2002

As you can see, there is an interesting new addition to the site today. To make my life easier and keep my hands from cramping up from trying to answer everyone's questions, I've added a site on vampires and witchcraft as a permanent fixture. The page of vampires is full of theories and stories, while the witchcraft page is on a mission to disarm harmful rumours and misconceptions. They will both eventually include a frequently asked questions section. If you have a question about either subject, please sign the guestbook and I'll answer it, or at least try to, as soon as possible.

Miss me much? I've been very busy. I'm learning how to walk again, which is nice. While I was put up for so long, I started writing a fantasy story which has served as a formidably distracting side project. It's amusing as hell, and I'm sure you'd like a look, so I'll try to get some of it up here as soon as possible in the vault section. In other news, I finally got my ass to sit still for long enough to fix all the thousands of broken images on the site. That's right, your eyes will no longer be burned by little red Xs. You can thank me later. There are a few other alterations that I've made to the site today, so have a snoop around and find them yourselves, if you'd like. Coming soon: the art page should have art on it finally, and of course, the fantastical side project!

October 16th, 2001

Once again, I've not been very present lately. I've been busy having the busiest week of my young life. So long as I'm having fun, and I am, I don't mind. I hope you're all still checking in from time to time, for at long last I've gotten the book link working. There are links to the writings section and to the inspirations and background pages, which have yet to be built. I'm working on it, though, so I hope I can keep your attention untill then. You can count on it being interesting, at least.

September 23rd, 2001

I apologize greatly for my long absence, since school started I've been a busy little L.E. I know I owe you all my soul for not keeping up with things, but it cannot be given away, I'm afraid. However, if you'd like to purchase a share of my soul for a very reasonable price, please leave me a message in the guestbook. Thy will be done. Anyway, there have been a few changes in my little slice of internet. The page of the comic has been maliciously torn down, not like anyone ever read it. So if you were planning on spending an evening with a reading of way out there, you're shit out of luck. Sorry, but it was a waste of space, and I don't want it to reflect poorly on my cocky, self-conscious self. I am not without good news tonight, however. The writings page is finally up and running, and has some decent entries in it to give you all a taste of what I really draw you all here for. What's that, you say? To shamelessly plug my book, of course. So go see it, already! That's all for now. I promise I'll update more often.

June 11th, 2001

I know, it's been a while. I've been horse shopping for some time, and guess what? I found the perfect horse. Find out about him and our little farm in the woods on the newest addition to the site, the farm. So that's basically all I've done on the site in the last little while, and as the summer progresses I'll have less and less time for building it up between work, training my horse, partying and the like. You'll all just have to leave me ear-deep in emails for when I read them. I don't mind, really.

May 24th, 2001

I know what you're all thinking right about now. "Where's the rest of the comic, L.E.? Why isn't the writings section up yet, L.E.? How ever did you get so damnably good looking, L.E.?" Okay, perhaps not the latter... The answers to the first two questions, however, is HOLD ON A BLOODY MINUTE! I'm not god, contrary to popular belief. You'll all just have to wait. I changed a few things around the site, mostly added more of an Apache flavour to the myself page. I thought it only necessary. I spent all morning in the hospital yesterday, it sucked. The only good to come out of it was getting my first hepatitis shot, which means I'm that much closer to being able to get my ink done. I'm getting my shoulders tattooed soon. Yep, you guessed it.. same tattoo as my dear Fletcher has. ;o) I'm in school, so I should be doing something more constructive than writing to you all, and yes, there do exist such things. I'll catch you all later, and keep those emails and guestbook graffitis coming, I appreciate them. Peace.

May 16th, 2001

Thank you, everyone, for your input and positive energy. I appreciate it. As for renovations on the page, I redrew that crazy assed comic, way out there. Go see it if you like, there are only a couple of frames up so far, but enough to get you started. There will be more, much more. (Insert evil laughter here.) I just hope I don't get committed for what I've done. And Briony, in response to your message in the guestbook, you'll just have to be patient. Writing a book is like baking a cake. If you rush it, then it's all half baked.. in the bad way. If you take too much time, however, then it gets all old and stale and wierd.. so it'll be out soon enough, and now I really want some cake. Anyway, there will soon be plenty of writings by yours truly up for public viewing and scrutiny, so hang in there. By the by, you know I love ya too. Have fun, gang.

May 14th, 2001

I didn't really do much today, other than get the guestbook all set up and functional. Please sign it, it creates good karma and I'll like you better. ;o) That's basically it for today, aside from continuing my efforts to make this site as artsy-fartsy as humanly possible.

May 12th, 2001

I just got back from getting my wisdom tooth pulled, so I'm spending all day sitting around with an ice pack on my face, working on my page. I got all the thumbnails on the photographs page working, and got the art page up and running. There isn't any art on it as of yet, but I'm working on it. Work was good today, I'm looking forward to working there all this summer. I don't do anything with my mornings anyway, besides sleep too much, so what better way to use them to my advantage than to make some money? It's a good deal. I'm going to need the money soon, I'm getting my liscense in June. If you see some little blonde hippie hurtling around in a burgundy volvo station wagon, wave, because that's me. :o)

May 11th, 2001

I've worked on this site more often than I've kept recorded, but what can I say? I've been busy. Writing, mostly, but I was also busy turning seventeen at long last. (Applaud now.) Yes, May first was my birthday. I finally got the photo album section up and running, so you can use and abuse my baby pictures and whatnot for whatever means you deem fit. I should have some art up by the end of the week, as well, along with the aforementioned teaser for some of my more suspenseful stories. I was also thinking of putting up some photos and documentation of the revamping efforts I'm putting towards my trolley. If you don't know what that's all about, stay tuned. As if that wasn't enough entertainment for you, I'm adding to the art section an old comic I drew once when I was really stoned and really tired. It's pretty funny, especially if you're in either one (or both) of those states of mind. If I don't do what I tell you I'm going to, feel free to email me and bitch, if it really matters that much to you. I'll be working some now, too. I know, I know. Les with a job, who would have thought such a thing would happen? Oh well, call me a pink, I need the money.

April 20th, 2001

Basically getting the page into some sort of shape, making sure I have links that work and all that. As for the book, I'm right in the middle of The People Here Are Terrifying, the most deliciously twisted and horrific of the stories. I haven't worked on it for a while, but my fascilitator, Katharine, is badgering me for the rest, so I'll have it in a few weeks after editing. Don't worry, I'll be sure to dish out a teaser for you.
