PRE-MATCH VERSUS MOE
In the lead up to Leongathas being defeated against Moe, the Tuesday night training was taken easier due to the considerable amount of players who had played school footy during the day. This caused Thursday nights training to be more like Tuesday night training. Thursdays nights training was a disgrace although was improved later towards the end of the night. The players went into the match with no talk, and had thought they'd win easily seeing as though we bet them last time. This was a lesson to all players who were involved in the disgusting effot. Ash believes he hasn't been training us hard enough as it was recognised that Moe was running harder during the match whilst players for us weren't fit enough to push up the ground.

LEONGATHA: DISGUSTING
Against a slightly easier side than the past few weeks, Leongatha faced a determined Moe at home. Leongatha took the match too easily and Moe kicked 3 goals to 1 in the first quarter to stamp a 9 pt lead. Ash Hickeys main goals was to be leading at quarter time. Players didn't seem to want to play whilst Moe capitalized by leongathas mistakes and ego.
The second quarter was a tighter quarter but Leongatha couldn't narrow the margin back. The margin was similar at half time. leongathas work effort was appauling for most of the players. Daniel Powney was put into the guts and Noodles was continueing his good form from last week which involved aggression at the ball. Joel was posing as a good target up forward and was playing good. But too many players head were down, and didn't seem to want to be out there.
The last half by leongatha was much better. Although the margine increased to 20 points by 3 quarter time. Aden, Geitz, and Brett Summers were respectfully playing good games but not enough players were.
The last quarter saw Leongatha narrow the margin. However Leongatha ran out of time and Moe had won. Moe now sit beside Leongatha on 2 wins.
End scores were Moe 7 2 44 defeated Leongatha 4 10 34

TRARALGON TOO STRONG
Traralgon U18s blitzed leongatha at Parrot Park. The promotion of the thirds skipper, nick Eddy, into the seniors didn't help leongathas difficult challenge against the undefeated Maroons. Traralgon got off to a quick start and had plenty of goals on the board at the first change. Ben Maxwell was strechered off the ground after being knocked out.
The second quarter involved Leongatha having a few shots at goal which came off to be goals. However, Traralgons consistant players helped them still kick more than leongatha. They had a match winning lead.
It seemed to Ash Hickey that only a handful of the players had turned up to play. Nathan Obleshchuk attacked the ball hard and was already a stand out during the first half.
In the third term Leongatha were more committed even though it didn't show on the scoreboard. Traralgons height and skills was over powering compared to Leongatha. Trarlgon kicked a few goals for the quarter compared to Leongathas' none. The effort was improving by Leongatha.
The last quarter saw Jack kindellin taken to hospital in the ambulance and Traralgon kicking away easily to win the match. The last half by leongatha was a much better effort than their first half even though Leongatha were kept scoreless for that last half. Leongatha were more competitive and determined to earn some pride and respect. Full time scores: Traralgon 15 14 104 defeated Leongatha 3 0 18. Leongathas Best Players were: Noodles, Geitzy, Stu, Langaz, Rumpy, and Atchy. Goalkickers: Dowdy, Aden, and Heath all singles.

HUGE WIN AT SALE
The Leongatha U18s traveled to Sale with must win ambitions. To make the finals this year beating Sale at Sale would be a huge confidence booster for the team. The players were very hard at it all day. Showing off 4 consistant quarters of football. Ben Maxwell and Mick Malloy stared for Leongatha. It was a very hard decision for Ash to choose the best Ash explained. Sale were frustrated in the last quarter and a Sale player was sent off for punching Powney. Scott Allen got concushion and is in doubt for this weeks match. In all, a great win for the parrots. The parrots theme song that was sang after the Sale game can be downloaded from this website soon.

TIGERS GO AWAY IN LAST QUARTER
     The leongatha u18's played Morwell on Saturday and competed well until the last quarter when morwell went away to a good win.
In perfect conditions for football o Saturday, Morwell had a lot of the play at the start of the first quarter, Morwell kicking the first goal.
     Leongatha defended galantly and after good skills by players downfield, Harris kicked the first two goals for Leongatha. Coach Ash Hickey told his players to tackle harder at the break. Leongatha 2.0.12, Morwell 2.2.14
     Morwell kicked the first three goals in the second quarterand established control of the game.
     Leongatha made a late surge with Summers scoring their first abd only goal for the quarter (Bretts first goal for Leongatha).
     Leongatha players were asked to show more commitment to get hard ball. Leongatha 3.0.18, Morwell 5.5.35
     And the players responded in term three, showing more determination at the start of the third quarter.
     Goss kicked a fantastic goal from an acute angle and after a good passage of play, Scott Allen scored another goal. Morwell replied quickly with their first goal for the quarter but Leongatha had revived hopes in the match. Leongatha 5.1.31, Morwell 7.6.48
     But Morwell went away in the last quarter and while Goss kicked a late goal they were no match for Morwell in the closing stages. Leongatha 6.1.37 defeated by Morwell 9.7.61. Best: N. Eddy. C.
