EDDY'S WORD (CAPTAINS SPACE)

The boys have got off to a great start to the year, considering 16 boys from last years grand final squad had to go up into the senior ranks.

The Moe win first up was a great start for our young team. Twas our first game together and the boys worked real hard to come away with the four points. Stepping up to the plate to face the boys in Blue the week after was never going to be aneasy task, considering we had the strength of Tim Wightman and the tenacity and skill of Brendan Scanlon out through other personal commitments. Although our boys tried their guts out all day, the blues came through with the four points in the end. Travelling up to Maffra was always going to takes its toll, physically and mentally. The Maffra guys are always hard to beat up there at home. Alwaysbeen renown as the hart hitting team in the competition, Maffra lived up to it. With the Maffra outfit attacking the ball, it caused our boys to become a touch tentative and it showed on the scoreboard. A few bad decisions from the men in white cost us dearly, but we fought back hard coming within 5 points at the last stages of the day. Unfortunately we werent able to clinch the win but nexttime I have no doubt it will be tighter, especially at home.

Just a reminder to the boys that all fines must be handed to me by the next Thursday at the latest. Remember the more money we get, the more piss we can drink!

Also, everyone try there hardest to come dressed in semi-formal gear like powney, doddy and I. It shows the other teams that were a professional unit and that were here to play!

Lets give the tigers a real push this week boys!
