Leopard geckos are usually yellow with brown/black spots .  There scientific name eublepharis macularius. Eublepharis meaning true eyelid and  macularius meaning spotted. They are different from many other geckos because they are nocturnal meaning that they sleep during the day and roam around at night. Leopard geckos originated from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, and India. Since there are so many breeder and and distributor making them one of the most popular geckos in the world. Juvenile leopard gecko are around 2 1/2 to about 4 inches. Adults are around 7- 10 inches. With proper care leopard gecko could live up to 20 years.
