| Animal Crossing is an innovative new game for the Nintendo Gamecube. It was first released in Japan where news first spread to the U.K. about this game. Then a year later it came out in the US but there was no news of its European release date and it appeared we might never get it. It has been a long time since then but it is has finally been made available in Europe. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Intoduction: This is a game like none other. Animal Crossing is typically original as with most Nintendo games and also very addictive. It is a first person simulator with a bit of everything added in. You control a human, who has decided to move out and get their own home. You discover just how unusual this game is right at the start. A cat named Rover talks to you and subtly asks the name of you and your town. Depending on how you answer a question it tries to deduct whether you are a male or female. You then arrive in your town and choose your house. You cant afford it yet so have to pay off your loan to Tom Nook gradually. Bells the currency in Animal Crossing can be made in different ways. You may wish to catch fish or bugs, which you may then sell to Nook with some creatures having higher values than others. Or you could try to get lucky by hitting a stone or shaking a tree to try and get a moneybag out.The main idea in this game is to communicate with others in your town. These are a selection of different animals with different personalities. You could have any of 100s of different animals in your town. Animals will eventually move out while new ones will come in as your town is constantly changing. 2 player: Animal crossing is also made to play with more than one person simultaneously. Your friends can live in the same town as you, while you send each other gifts and letters. You could send them a piece of trash or some money. The letter could be abusive or friendly. It's up to you. Alternatively you may each have your own town with different people and fruit in them and visit each others place. Fruit that doesnt grow in your town has a high value. You can even set a 'welcoming' message to friends who drop by your place. Your town: It is up to you if you want to try and turn your town into an ideal place to live in, with a large population and happy people or into a war zone. Refusing to help the residents of your town and failing to have the correct amount of plants in each area in your town will drive animals out. Neglect the game for long periods of time and you will to return to a weed infested town and find cockroaches in your house. It can depend really if you want to do errands for your fellow villages or if you would rather spend all your time making money catching creatures and then selling them to the shop owner, Tom Nook. It is, of course, the better the more time you spend in your town tending to it, but you have to choose how to use this. You may want to make others happy by sending them interesting letters so that the animals like them. They dont understand complicated phrases or words. Animals like you to send them things and to talk to them nice and early every day. They ask a lot of you but youll have to handle it. |
