7/5/04 Well, leg#2 is underway! We're back in the USA, and the direction is now south! Last week we started off in Quebec City for my birthday. It was a wonderful day first spent at the nearby falls called Chutes du Montmorency where we took a tram to the top of the falls and walked over the falls via a bridge. The night was spent down by the river near Chateau Frontnac, very romantic. The next day we went to the Citadel of Quebec City and saw the ceremony of the changing of the guards with their mascot Batisse ( a goat). Check out the pictures from the photo page. We spent the next few days at my mom's new home about an hour from the city. It is a perfect place for her, right on a small lake with her family nearby. We spent the 4th of July in Burlington, VT (pics). We saw awesome fireworks over Lake Champlain where they were having a festival. On Sunday we took a train ride along the lake, went to Vermont Teddy Bear Factory and attended a potluck supper at our hostel. Today drove to Fort Ticonderoga in NY on our way to Kingston. We saw a drum and fife demonstration along with a mustket and canon firing, perfect timing considering the 4th yesterday (pics). We have been having a blast and have actually had a lot of down time, even though it doesn't seem that way. We are so fortnuate to be on this trip and intend to make the best of everyday! Miss you and think about you all often. Loving you guys. Michelle.
7/6/04 Today we took a cute little cruise along the Hudson river where we saw 2 lighthouses, and 2 bald eagles (pics). We then drove to New York city to where we had intended on staying, but decided against it when we saw the area it was in. Instead we are staying in a nice area in New Jersey, and we will be taking the nice/safe bus to NY City for the day tomorrow. Even we have our standards! See ya! Keith
7/8/04 Yesterday and today Michelle and I toured New York City, mostly via a bus tour. We went to the "top" of the Empire State Building (very cool), saw the entire city, and got real close to the Statue of Liberty, amongst other things. I'm pretty tired from posting the pictures and learning new stuff to make the photo page look better, so I'm sure Michelle will update with more details about the NYC tour! I can't wait for Philly this weekend!!! WOO HOO! Bye. Keith
7/10/04 Howdy! Yesterday we went to Cape May, NJ for a lighthouse cruise, these suckers are out there! Huge thenks to the NELL friends for our touching sendoff! From NJ we drove up to Phily where we will be until Monday morning. We're staying in a hostel that is an old mansion! This place is so cool, and for only $15/night each, it's also a great value! Today we took a trolley tour of Phily which was cool. Tomorrow the plan is to drive out to Amish country and tour the Hershey factory...pray for my strength to not eat the whole place out!!! I've posted the Cape May AND Phily pictures together, check them out...photo page
7/12/04 Alooooooha. Yesterday, Michelle and I went to Amish country and Hershey in Penn. I've posted a few pictures... check them out... This morning we left Phily, it was POURING! We drove through Deleware, into Maryland, and part of Virginia where we visited a lighthouse. After that we drove to Washington DC where tomorrow we will start touring it! I hope to have pics up tomorrow night. Right now, it's bedtime! Night!
