Luis Emiliano Gutiļæ½rrez-Poucel
About me:
I am an economist by training. I have attended five universities: National University of Mexico, Victoria University of Manchester, Leicester University, Harvard University, and the most important one, the University of Life where I have learned how to cope with adversity and start early in the day (actually, Uncle Alfred Grimminger was the one that taught me that one in his bakery in Middletown, Delaware when I was at the tender age of 14, wow, that man really made us work!).
Work experience:
I have worked at the National University of Mexico, CIDE, Citi-bank Mexico, World Bank, Inter American Development Bank, Energy Secretariat in Mexico, and of course at Grimminger's Bakery. I currently work as an economic consultant.
Marriage & Children:
I have been married twice. The first time in 1968 with Bethany Good when we were only 23 years old, ouch! We had two kids: Lester and Christopher. We remain good friends!
The second time in 1989 with Marie-Louise Oosthuysen, to which I am still happily married with two daughters: Cassandra and Sabrina.
Hobbies & Interests:
My key interest remains my family, which keeps me pleasantly surprised every day. This includes my friends, my extended family. My second interest is economics, which has been my intellectual passion ever since I started university. My third passion is sports, weightlifting, tennis and aerobics. My fourth passion is gadgets, I love putting things together. I build all the PCs at home for Marielou and the girls. My fifth interest is computing and doing this. I better stop here, because I also like reading and writing poetry. I am a jack of all trades, and master of none.
