- Derroll Adams -

Folksinger, banjo player, painter, writer & poet

Derroll Adams was born in Portland Oregon
November 27th, 1925

Jack Elliott and his wife June were responsible for bringing Derroll to Europe in 1957. They toured in England and on the European continent. After four years Jack went back to America. Derroll stayed in Europe.
After many roaming years through Europe Derroll married Danny and settled in Antwerp.

He became legendary and one of the best known American folksingers in Europe. Partly by his unique soft banjo style and partly by his charisma. He was an inspiration for many folksingers on the European continent.
His banjo style was a combination of up-picking and double thumbing.

He was also a gifted painter, writer and poet

Derroll died in Antwerp Feb. 6th, 2000. Age 75.
