Roger Davis: Research
Roger Davis' waredrobe from the Broadway musical RENT is a collection of found modern pieces with the apropos boho flair. For pictures of more RENT characters, including Roger, check out my RENT graphics site The Boho Girls.
ACT ONE
Clothing - For Act One, Roger wears a dark green corduroy pullover over a black 'punk' shirt. I think the shirt advertises an underground band of some sort. It has white letters on it and is sleeveless. He wears maroon and white plaid pants, and black boots. He has some sort of necklace - dog tags? chain? It's hard to see exact detail, but it's there (see picture #2-3). NOTE: There are pictures on the web that show the OBC of RENT in slightly different outfits - i.e. the last two pictures above, second row. These are from the RENT workshop before it went to Broadway, thus the different clothing (though the vibe is still the same).
Outerwear - For all of the 'outdoor' scenes, Roger wears a black leather coat (with silver zippers) and a dark green scarf.
Accessories/Props - Let's not forget Roger's Fender guitar! :)
ACT TWO
Clothing - For Act Two, Roger's first outfit is a striped black and white shirt with a pair of black pinstripped trousers. Roger's second outfit combines the same black pinstripe trousers with a dark purple button-down shirt. The jewelry (necklace) and shoes (black boots) remain the same throughout the play.
