The Queen's Dress: Research
The Queen wears a long sleeve floor-length dress with a long cloak and a sheer veil. The dress is two pieces: a royal purple underdress with tight long sleeves, and a sleeveless overdress of grape/wine purple with a V-neckline. The overdress splits center front to reveal the darker underdress, and is trimmed in gold along the neckline, the center front of the bodice, and the V-shaped waistline. A band of the grape/wine purple fabric repeats on the high neckline of the underdress. The Queen wears a a sheer white veil that covers her hair and is held in place with a large gold crown. Her cloak changes color depending on the scene, but it's usually a dark blue and cuts away at center front so the dress worn below is revealed. It secures at the hollow of her throat, but with no visible means of closure.
