My ex-roommate Maggie and I first watched Moulin Rouge together and *loved* it. Both being avid sewers, we immediately decided that we wanted - no, needed - an outfit from this film. Halloween was just around the corner, so I whipped up some concept sketches and the rest, they say, is history.
