NETWORKING & ADVOCACY
LeAP! undertakes proactive lobbying and campaign that will bring about legislative and policy changes in areas affecting lesbians and other persons discriminated on the basis of gender and sexual orientation. Advocacy involvement reaches the media, legislature and other government and non-government institutions.
LeAP!, Inc. is an active member of several networks and alliances. These are:
1) Lesbian and Gay Legislative Advocacy Network (LAGABLAB), a local network of LGBT organizations engaged in lobbying for laws recognizing LGBT rights;
2) Task Force Pride (TFP), the organizing body of the Philippine Annual LGBT Pride Month; and,
3) Kilos Kabaro-2 (KK2), a network of women’s groups working on reproductive rights issues. LeAP has engaged in collaborative campaigns and advocacy work with Amnesty International-Philippines.
Internationally, LeAP is represented in the Working Group of the Asia-Pacific Rainbow, the first Asia-Pacific based-LGBT formation. LeAP members have links with the Asian Lesbian Network (ALN).
